Riley was sitting in her math class listening to her teacher go on about algebra problems. She couldn't wait for the school bell to ring, signaling the end of class. It was sunny and warm outside. All she could think about was the weather and how she couldn't wait to leave.
It was a nice day, so it was the perfect weather to walk home.
"I wonder how long our teacher is going to go on about polynomial equations. We already heard it the first time." Disgust said impatiently
"This is taking forever. We'll never get to go outside at this rate." Sadness added
Joy felt eager to get out. After all, it was Friday and none of the teachers have assigned any homework for Riley, which meant Riley had the weekend all to herself. This made joy feel glad for Riley.
Suddenly, a ringing could be heard. It was the school bell, which meant Riley could go home.
In the hallway, Riley tried to catch up to her best friend.
"Hey Riley, I'm glad our teacher didn't assign us any math homework. Do you have any plans for this weekend?" Meg asked Riley
Meg had been away for so long that she decided to transfer to Riley's school so that they could stay together. Riley felt glad that Meg came to San Francisco with her.
"Well, I was supposed to have ice hockey practice tomorrow but somehow Ben misplaced our hockey gear, so it's been cancelled. Other than that, I think I'll just come home and chill."
That sounded like good idea to Riley. Suddenly, Joy came up with an idea and placed an idea bulb on the console at headquarters.
"Hey, you want to come to my house with me? There's not much to do, but I'm sure we can think of something."
"That sounds like a great idea, just let me ask my parents before I come over."
After their walk home, Meg went home to ask her parents if she could stay at Riley's for a bit. Meg's parents agreed. After Meg came over, the two girls entertained themselves until there was nothing else to do. So far, they rode their bikes, danced to music videos and sang karaoke.
"Well, I'm officially bored." Meg stated as she laid in Riley's bed, staring at the ceiling.
"Oh come on, there has to be something else we can do." Riley said, encouragingly.
After a moment, another idea came to Riley.
"I know! Let's play a game. This is a good one."
This sparked some interest for Meg.
"What kind of game?" She said, looking at Riley
"Well, what if we surfed the web for places around the world until one of us finds an interesting place. Whoever finds the most interesting place wins."
Meg thought that it sounded like a great game. The friends played for a good while, taking turns searching the internet. Then, it was Riley's turn.
"Okay, my turn." Riley said as she put the word ghost on google to see what would come up.
"Haha, ghost. That's a good one, Riley." Meg said laughing
They were having a lot of fun at this point
They were searching for a while until they agreed that Riley won the game. On the screen, they came across a strange article which had a bunch of information on ghost findings in a town called Amity Park.
Ghosts are real?, thought Riley
"Aagh!! I thought ghosts weren't real!" Fear shrieked in headquarters
