I came home to see that you still weren't home. I put my bag on the chair and picked up a note that was on the floor. I picked it up and read the first sentence. I'm sorry and I love you forever. I dropped the note and ran through the house looking for you. I screamed your name trying to get an answer. I finally made my way up the stairs and found that the bathroom was locked. I pounded on the door, pleading with you to not leave. I took a few steps back before I kicked the door. The door swung open as I lunged towards you. Your blood soaked the tiles of the floor. I ripped my shirt off and started to wrap the scraps around your wrists. I tied them tight to make sure the bleeding would stop. I dug into my pocket to fish out my phone. I fumbled and almost dropped it while dialing 911. I put it on speaker and set it on the floor. I pulled you close to me, my head against your chest trying to listen to a heartbeat. I heard a weak heartbeat but I was so happy that you were still alive. I heard a voice from behind me,

"911 what's your emergency"

"Help, they're bleeding out I need an ambulance"

"Please calm down, the paramedics are on their way. Can you explain to me what happened?"

"I came home and I found a note on the ground, then I found their unconscious on the floor bleeding. I covered the wound and I heard a pulse but it was weak."

"Ok that's good the paramedics are almost there. Can you unlock the door?"

"I'll do one better"

I put one arm under your legs and the other under your neck and gently picked you up. I looked down to see my pants soaked in your blood. I rushed down the stairs and gently set you on the couch. I knelt down next to you checking the bandage on your wrist. Tears started to fill my eyes as I heard sirens in the distance. I wiped the tears from my eyes as I opened the door and flagged the ambulance down. They parked the vehicle on the side of the road and jumped out of the vehicle and bolted into the house. I walked in the doorway. I saw them taking care of your wounds. The world felt like it was crumbling from underneath me. I fell to my knees as I saw them take you and started to put you in the ambulance. Something snapped and I ran to the ambulance. I jumped in the ambulance as they sped off. The sirens blared and it seemed like an eternity but we finally made it to the hospital. They took you away as another one held me back. Before you disappeared into the Chaos I screamed, "can you hear me screaming please don't leave me!"
I paced back and forth waiting for some sort of news. I sat in the corner next to the vending machine. My head in my hands as I wait for someone to tell me that you're still alive. Finally I heard someone approach. I looked up, my eyes full of tears to see who it was. It was a man. He said, "they lost a lot of blood but they'll be ok." I started to cry again. The doctor sat next to me and hugged me.
"If it wasn't for your quick thinking she wouldn't be here"
That made me cry more. He put a hand out and motioned me to follow him. I reached out and he helped me up. We walked to a room where I saw you with needles and other medical equipment hooked up to you. I sat in the chair next to the bed. I put my hand on your wrist. Your eyes opened up and I smiled but you had a sad look on your face. I told you, "there's no need to worry. You held on and now I'm here to protect you. We will get you the help you need and I'll stay with you every step of the way." You smiled and pulled me in for a hug.

A few months later you got out of the ward. I was waiting for you. You got into the car and said, "baby, let's go home."
