This story was inspired by an Elton John song called Elton's Song, written in 1981. It takes place in the second half of the 60s. Reginald Dwight (aka Elton John before fame) is a clumsy boy who falls in love with a girl from school, called Ally, who never really noticed him before.

(I apologise in advance for my English, it's not my native language)

It was a normal Thursday morning and the typical London grey sky was affecting student's moods who were behind their worn-out desks, dreaming of sun and freedom. The bell rang, breaths of relief everywhere. It was break time.

"Ally! Quick, you won't believe what Olivia's found".

"Sure, I'm eating now. But I will definitely come and have a look... after this sandwich will fully be in my stomach".

Her name was Ally, a 17 years old English girl. Long and wavy brown hair, brown doe eyes from which the cunning of a fox transpired. She was considered the kindest girl at school, with a pointed reply always ready. She was sure of herself, self-aware and respectable.

"Come on! You do not want to miss this! Trust me. They are all waiting for you in chemistry class".

"Is this necessary?" Ally asked, annoyed.

"Have I ever let you down?"

"It better be as incredible as you say. I paid 8£ for this sandwich" she said, standing up reluctantly.

Therefore, she put the beloved snack in her schoolbag and followed her excited friend to the class where everybody was waiting for her.

"Oh finally! The princess is here" a short and pudgy boy, called Billy, remarked.

"I'm here, indeed, court jester. At your service" Ally ironically replied to Billy's sarcastic comment, "What's so important to interrupt my lunch?".

"You won't believe it" a tall and thin guy said.

"This is going to be so much fun" another girl resembling a goose, called Lisa, added.

"Yeah, seems you have a secret admirer".

"Cut it up. What is it about?" Ally impatiently asked. She was way more mature than all her friends were; she already knew that whatever it was, it would have been childish and wouldn't have been worth her time.

Then a girl called Olivia started talking: "Ok, so... everybody here knows my big brother, right? He works in a recording studio...".

"That's so cool" Billy exclaimed with enthusiasm.

"Yeah, exactly. That's why I asked him if I could go with him and take a look around, you know? Observe him at work, basically". Olivia said with an attitude.

"Tell Ally what you have found!" Lisa exploded.

"I'm getting there, Lisa" Olivia aggressively grunted, "So, I was fooling around when I found this!" and she pulled a recording tape out of her backpack.

"What is that?" Ally was confused and even more annoyed.

"Did you bring it, as I asked?" Olivia asked Billy.

"Of course, here it is" and she putted a little tape mill on the desk.

"Let's listen to it, shall we?" Olivia asked, looking more like a viper than a 17 years old girl.

A sweet love song started playing. It was slow and hopeless, just piano and voice. There wasn't a title written on the cover, just a name: Reg Dwight.

"Listen, listen! -I watched you playing pool, I love your gipsy hair and dark brown eyes...- this is you. We always play pool on Saturday afternoon" the tall guy, called Steven, hinted.
