Part 2: The assembly

We ran down to the main hall.

As we entered the huge doors to the hall. The assembly already started. I checked my watch; 7:04. Well shit.

??: "GIRLS! you are late."
m+y: "sorry Miss Hampton"
mh: "sit on the bench at the back immediately."
m+y: "yes miss"

As we sat on the most uncomfortable bench to ever exist, my music teacher came on stage.

mc: "GOOD MORNING KC!!"
ev: "Good morning Mr Collin"
mc: "Today u have a very soecial announcement...

Is it about that poster i found? Mr Collin loves his music so is that why he's saying it???

mc: "every single student in this hall right now, has a chance of a lifetime!!"

I could feel my heart beating very fast.

mc: "the opportunity is.... A CHANCE TO JOIN A BAND!!!"

The room was filled with ooos and ahhs.

I took the paper poster out of my pocket. This can't be what he means, right?!

mc: "EVERYONE WELCOME..... THE LEAD SINGER OF CALPURNIA, FINN WOLFHARD!!"

I turned to Max, her jaw was dropped.

m: "no fucking way."
y: "HOLY SHIT"

I felt a hand tap my shoulder and i turned around;

mh: "language young lady or it will be a detention."
y: "yes miss, sorry miss."

I turned back to Max. She saw what happened and laughed out loud. I gave her a pinch as to say shut up.

m: "OW!! WHAT WAS THAT FOR!?!"

I just giggled and turned back to look at the stage.

mc: "QUIET DOWN ,QUIET DOWN!"

As the room quieted down, he carried on.

mc: "So Finn, introduce yourself!"
f: "Hi everyon-"

People started to go crazy and scream at him. There were 'i love yous' 'marry mes' being shouted out.

mc: "SHUSH LET THE BOY TALK."
f: "Thanks sir- So bascially whats happening is that we need a new band member/members due to us having more and more tours."

More screams filled the room but they quickly stopped when Finn started to speak again;

f: "Audition sheets will be dotted around school. Any questions?"

Over 50 hands shot in the air.

f: "Uhm you at the back with blonde hair"

Shit its the girl next to me.

??: "uhm how many people will you choose?"
f: "... oh oh sorry maybe 1 or 2?"

I nudged Max.

y: "psst!"
m: "yeah??"
y: "we had eye contact."

She turned to me, eyes wide.

m: "no way."
y: "yes way- thats why he stuttered with the answer to the question-"
m: "holy shit."

f: "I will also be staying here for 2 weeks to find the perfect band members."
mc: "ah yes good reminder. Now if the teachers will dismiss the rows one at a time?"

The room filled with talking.

m: "He 100% likes you"
y: "HOW!?!?"
m: "He was staring at you?!!"
y: "THAT MEANS NOTHING"

I could feel myself going bright red.

mh: "row 9 leave out of the left door."

m: "That's our row, get up."
y: "alright jeez-"

We stood up and left. As we were walking back to our dorm, i kept reading and looking at the poster in my hands.

Do i auditon? This could be everything i need.
