Serpico x Reader Part 6

It broke apart to his relief as he focused on just holding you.

He needed to get the water from your lungs but the damn current and his wound prevented him from moving.

To everyone's alarm Farnese bumped Casca and she plummeted off the roof. Farnese reacted quick only to fall after her.

Serpico's heart was racing. He couldn't stand this defenceless feeling as the water continued to surge past.

Guts was clinging to a huge branch as he yelled for Farnese to grab his hand.

She managed to get a good hold on Casca while desperately reaching out for Guts.
Just barely she missed him as the two were carried past.

Everyone was frantic.

When the water cleared enough Serpico jumped through it hurrying as he held your drenched body.

Guts saw what was going on and forced through the water to follow.

Serpico gently set you down while Guts monitored.

"She's not breathing?" He asked. He hadn't fully seen what happened.

Serpico shook his head as he started to perform chest compressions.

Guts watched as he worked to get your heart beating and gave you his air.

Schierke and the others rushed over. Schierke noticed a pool of blood forming and her eyes widened. She thought it were yours but soon realized Serpico was pushing through his own pain to keep you alive.

"Oh my god is she gonna die?!" Isidro shouted grabbing his head.

Guts was still as he noticed the blood.

"Do you need me to-" he reached forward when Serpico suddenly pushed him back defensively.

"You will not touch her" he glared up at him with that scary look in his eyes.

Guts fell silent as he watched on.

Isidro glanced to Guts in confusion.

You'll understand when you have a girl of your own.. he thought to himself.

Serpico pushed a little more forcefully with his compressions and you suddenly choked up the water.

Air filled your lungs as you came back to the living.

Serpico wordlessly pulled you against him.

You coughed a bit as you realized everyone was surrounding you two.

"...hi guys" you said tiredly.

Guts gave a nod while Puck landed on your shoulder.

"I thought you were dead Icey!"

Serpico released you and you realized he were sweating quite a bit.

"...what's wrong?"

Serpico had been ignoring a wound of his own. Now that he knew you were safe he started to succumb to it.

You noticed the blood and started to panic.

Both Puck and Ivalera rushed in to work on his back.

You were relieved to hear it weren't fatal.
It suddenly dawned on you that Casca and Farnese were missing!

The group had to leave immediately to get them back.

Schierke couldn't reach them telepathically but could faintly detect their od.

She sensed that trolls had carried them off and suddenly the urgency to retrieve them grew.

It also occurred that Serpico couldn't join..

He was in no condition to move anymore.

"Please, just leave right away" he lowered his head.

You felt guilt seeing just how much this tore him up inside. He really wanted to see that his sister were safe..

You took some bandages from your satchel and started to wrap them around his abdomen once the pixies were finished.

"Lady Farnese is in your hands" he commented Guts' way without meeting his gaze.

Guts turned immediately leaving as requested.

Isidro looked between Guts and Serpico.

They were so cold to one another..

Schierke rushed to catch up but glanced back waiting for you to follow.

You saw this and went to move when a hand suddenly snapped over your wrist scaring you.

Alarmed you looked over at Serpico.

His expression was terrifying..

"If you think I will simply allow you to go, you are mistaken" he threatened with a dark tone lowering his head again.

It wasn't until that moment you realized he were furious with you.

Your heart raced. He were like a completely different man..

You very slowly eased back down.

You knew he were just doing it to protect you..

Schierke had seen what happened and sent a small message letting you know she'd tell the others you were staying too.
