Serpico x Reader Part 6

Start from the beginning

Guts glanced up at the change in clouds as he got drenched.

In the mean time he was still faced with an Ogre..

People were amazed he could even hold off such a monster.. he had to be a monster himself..

Had the ogre not been reattaching its limbs, he would've won already.

The haunting call of a new creature sounded in the distance. Guts was launched back as enormous water pistols shot his way. The ogre got a good swing in with him being distracted.

"Another monster?! Where the hell are these coming from?!" Isidro grabbed his hair. You really started to worry now.. How was Guts supposed to hold off two of these things..

You glanced at your spear and at the creature nervously feeling this might be your duty.. especially being the one with the water elementals..

The next thing you knew Serpico flew down from the roof landing gracefully in front of you and Isidro. It stopped you from moving further.

You felt your anxieties spike as he slowly turned to look at you.

"I thought you might feel this your burden" he gently lowered his head as though to bow.

"I will answer for you"

"What?! No!" You reached out but Serpico gave a trusting look to Isidro who immediately grabbed you pulling you back.

"I'm sorry but this is my role; to protect you." he paused as he almost hesitated to say the next thing.

"...I love you y/n" he stated.

He gave Isidro another look to keep you from heading after him before turning his attention back for the creature.

Your body went into a state of shock as Isidro looked at you with wide eyes.

"I-Is he going to die?!" He grabbed tighter at your clothes having a feeling you'd try to take off after him.

You couldn't even get a word out.

Your heart was thumping through your chest.

Had he just.. given you his farewell?

You slowly looked down at the spear that quivered in your hands.

Isidro tried to shake you out of whatever trance you were in.

"Man she's completely gone" he grew frantic looking to Puck.

Guts got thrown around while Serpico walked out toward the creature. It was the horse that drowned men in rivers of myth.

Serpico managed to deflect its initial attacks with the aid of his cape and feathered sword.

However each time he struck at the water horse it shielded itself with a barrier of water.

Serpico tried to plan out some way to land a blow when the water at his feet began to travel up his legs. It quickly covered his face with intent to drown.
