Serpico x Reader Part 5

Start from the beginning

Serpico's eyes widened when he saw you weren't here.

Guts glanced over swiping the last of the shadows away when he stepped back to reveal you were on the ground under him.

Guts noticed Serpico's expression shift as he ran over to you.

He lifted you into his arms protectively as he glared toward Guts with blame. He didn't have to hear what happened, he already knew it was his fault.

Puck flew over to you with worry as he noticed the blood dripping from your mouth.

Serpico was enraged by this. He would not forgive it.

~~

You spent the entirety of the day resting up. None of your teeth were broken but Guts had struck you hard enough to give you a mouth full of blood. There was even a bruise starting to appear on your cheek.

Serpico kept you in his lap the entirety of the day glaring at him from across the way.

Guts sighed and drifted to sleep for the time being.

When you awoke you were on his chest and looked up at him with surprise and relief that he were back. He gently brushed the hair from your face guiding you to rest a little longer.

~~

Later when you were all packing your things to move camp Serpico politely asked if Guts would help him gather firewood.

Guts knew exactly what this was.

He followed him out into the woods where Serpico wordlessly knelt down to start gathering wood.

Guts just stared at him as he had his back turned.

"You can drop the act"

Serpico didn't stop what he were doing as he played along.

"I don't know of what you mean"

Guts turned his head for a split second when an explosive got thrown at his face. He caught sight of that expression he'd been waiting to see again..

That threatening gaze..

"There it is" he thought as he crushed the bomb with his fingers.

"Lately I've been thinking how convenient it would be for you to die"

Guts expected as much. It weren't the first time Serpico confronted him. He was quite an impressive swordsman, and a cunning one.

Reminded him of Griffith in his younger days.

"Because Farnese desires to continue this journey under you I will behave myself. However if something were to happen that resulted in the death of either Farnese or y/n.." He warned.

Guts got the message.

"If you so much as cause another scratch on y/n.." their eyes locked with seriousness.

He suddenly stood back up with the firewood in hand. "However I'm sure we will learn to get along otherwise." He almost nodded courteously. Guts couldn't help finding him a curious fellow.
