Serpico x Reader Part 5

You glanced over at Serpico who smirked your way. Whatever this journey was, you really didn't mind it. It felt like a heavy weight lifted off your shoulders just being free from the duty of knighthood.

Now that you knew you weren't headed back for the holy city you felt at peace.

As the sun started to lower Guts stood up alerting you all of what was about to happen. It seemed everyone here already knew except for you.

Guts turned to you. "You're about to see a bunch of spirits. Do not let them so much as touch you. They can possess anyone if they do"

You nodded nervously.. After everything that happened yesterday you felt at least a little more equipped. You and Azon had fought through some horrific shit the other night.

Lady Farnese was shaking as she held her torch tight. None of you knew of the experience she had when she got kidnapped by Guts.

It haunted her to this day what those spirits tried to do.

As the sun lowered you drew your sword. Serpico came to your side.

You looked at him in shock. He gave you a small look letting you know he had your back.

You were surprised he wasn't at Farnese's side..

Puck hovered with a little pixie weapon over Isidro's head. Isidro was eager for the spirits to come out while Guts was just used to it at this point..

When the last of the sun disappeared behind the mountains an ominous feel filled the air. You shivered a little as your eyes began to play tricks on you.

You stood your ground as shadows and voices moved through the air.

They soon took form and began attacking you all. Your eyes widened when with one gigantic swoop Guts took out like five at once.

You certainly felt a lot safer with him here yet you wondered why these lands were full of evil spirits..

You swiped your sword out as the shadows came after you. You did your best to keep them from getting past you to the other women. Farnese's job was to keep the fire going and protect Casca.

The fight lasted all night. By the end of it you were quite exhausted. There were a couple close calls but you all managed to make it.

Little did you know all Guts had been doing this alone every single night. Sometimes even through to the days if they were dark enough.

The following morning was just light enough to keep the shadows away. There was still a lot of pressure on Farnese to keep the fire going.

She had got in people's way and was at last only allowed to look after Casca and the fire.

They both disappeared off to gather firewood while Serpico prepared a meal.

You practically fell asleep on the spot which slightly amused Guts.

You jolted out of your sleep when someone fell on you. You were scared half to death only to see it were just Casca.

She was fine; just tripped.
