Serpico x Reader Part 2

"Come to my room" he stated as you looked up in surprise.

"Serpico.."

It made your heart flutter that he had invited you again. Could something more happen? It had you so nervous.

The idea of you two becoming a thing gave you butterflies but you soon stopped yourself.

"One night was a risk enough on its own Serpico.. even if nothing happened.. to others if they saw that we had shared a room last night.. it looks bad"

"We would certainly be put to death." You finalized.

He was silent.

"No one will know. I'll make sure of it."

You were surprised by his willingness to gamble. You fiddled with the fabric of your shirt unsure of this.. It was a great risk. You didn't mind your own neck on the line but risking his too would be reckless on your behalf.

He was quiet a moment longer.

Another knock came at the door as both of you straightened with alarm.

Hesitantly Serpico opened the door.

It was just another guard. He looked between the two of you curious of why Serpico of all people was in your bedroom. He normally surrounded Farnese at all times.

"I was just attending y/n's wounds" Serpico explained.

The guard glanced at your bruised leg and cringed a little.

"That.. looks like it hurt" he rubbed the back of his neck feeling a little bad now.

He turned to Serpico. "Lady Farnese has asked for you. "

You tensed hearing those words. What is he going to tell her you worried.

"I'll be there right away" Serpico nodded.

When the guard left he turned back to you and wordlessly left.

Your heart sunk and you shook your head. It was foolish to think anything could ever happen between you two.

Even if you both longed in wonder. In the end it did not matter. This organization did not allow for such liberties.

This was the kind of war where no one was on anyone's side. Just the smallest disloyal action could result in death regardless of their position in this army.

You curled up on your bed with a sigh.

The pain from your leg, you'd just have to sleep it off. You were just lucky enough to have it tended to.

The next day you were expected to be back on it right away.

There was word that the black swordsman was in the area which set off all kinds of alarms for the Holy See.
Especially Lady Farnese. She had grown so obsessed with trying to capture him that when she failed it took a hit to her pride.
