{y/n} pov:

Finally after 3 and a half years of dating, Dolores and Mariano are getting married! Everyone was waiting for this day to come. Although how fast he tried to take it with Isabella, I don't blame Dolores for taking it slow.

**

I was born with a relatively weak body, so my mama always kept me inside our house. Though, personally speaking, I didn't think it was all that weak. But my mama always told me how even after tia Julieta's cooking, I still managed to become ill easily.

I've been holed up in my room for forever, so I always watched the Madrigals and the other children my age roam free.

It wasn't always terrible though; I easily advanced in my education from all the free time I've had. Of course, I want to go out though.

I turn 18 this year so I was finally able to convince my mama to let me go into the city of Encanto and attend Dolores and Mariano's wedding. Since my mama was good friends with tia Julieta, she agreed to this.

Tia Julieta came around 3 to pick me up. She agreed to let me stay at la casita until the wedding, to help my body adjust to the new environment.

"{y/n} are you ready querida?" tia Julieta was standing in the doorway. My mama stood next to me fixing my hair and my clothes.

"mama! I'm gonna be fine." My mama looked me in my eyes and smiled, I know. You're all grown up now. And I trust you I do, and Julieta. I'm just worried for you and your health.

"Don't worry! If {y/n} ever gets sick, she'll always have my cooking to fix her right up!" tia Julieta remarked bringing me to the door to put my shoes on.

My mama sighed and quickly rushed to the door where we were standing together. She hugged me tightly and smiled. "Alright mi hija. I hope you have fun at the wedding!"

"I will mama!" I excitedly ran out the door feeling the cool breeze on my face. The only time I've felt the breeze was through my window in my room. I turned around to wave goodbye to my mama.

"So, would you like to visit anywhere before we head to la casita? I know you haven't been much outside your house."

Excitedly I replied, "Of course!! Could we visit an art store? Other than studying, drawing is basically all I do in my free-time..."

"Absolutely!! Come on querida!" Tia Julieta dragged me into a nearby store filled with pencils, paints, and different notebooks with different material papers.

After running around the store for almost 20 minutes, we finally left with a few bags of art supplies. When we got closer to la casita the doors automatically opened. A male figure bumped into me, knocking me onto the ground, spilling all of my art supplies.

"Hey-- uh, sorry about that I didn't mean to knock into you..." Tia Julieta stared sternly at the boy basically saying What are you doing? Hurry and help her!

He quickly knelt down to help me. I looked up and noticed who it was. When my eyes met his, I saw Camilo staring at me.

He quickly grabbed the bags of art supplies on the ground.

"Yea sorry about that, uh I'm Camilo Madrigal, what about you?" He stuttered a bit looking at me waiting for my answer.

"Uh, hey, I'm {y/n} {l/n}. Thanks for knocking me into the ground!" I teased tryna make this conversation less awkward than it already was.

"Hey it's not my fault you're so small that I couldn't even see you." He joked back. I knew he wasn't talking about my weak stature, I was relatively short for my age too. And Camilo stood almost 6 inches above me too. (I'm assuming that in 3 years since the setting of the movie this mans grew :D).

"Hey, Camilo! Be nice." Tia Julieta jabbed at him as she brought some of our groceries into the kitchen.

We set the supplies down on the table. The whole la casita was already covered with various decorations in preparation for the wedding.

"Soooo why is {y/n} here?" Camilo snorted.

"She is the daughter of one of my friends, and will be staying with us for a while until after the wedding." Tia Julieta responded.

"Right..... ok." Tia Julieta glared somewhat sweetly at Camilo.

"You know, Camilo, why don't you go show {y/n} around la casita while I finish cooking dinner?" She swiftly shoved the two of us out of the kitchen.

By the time I could reply, we were already walking up the stairs la casita had put down for us. I was in utter shock from the way the house just magically moved on its own. I looked around the house amazed, but when I turned back to Camilo at the top of the stairs, I stared into myself who was making a weird face.

In shock I yelped, and slipped. My foot almost slid from the staircase but then Camilo transformed back into himself catching my arm, before I could fall.

"oops" Camilo looked a little embarrassed at the failure of an attempt to make me laugh.

"Yea oops is right, I almost died thanks to you!" I looked down to see him still holding my hand.

"Uh you gonna let go?"

He looked down at his hand around my wrist and quickly let go. "I wasn't holding on, you were."

"Yea ok buddy." I quickly walked ahead of him, trying to shoo away the beet-red blush from my face. He followed close behind me.

"Hey wait up, I'm the one giving the tour remember?" Oh right. I forgot I don't have a clue of where anything is here. He showed me around the rest of the house. I stared at each of the unique doors that glowed with luminescent light carved into the images of all the madrigals.

"Is Mirabel here?" I asked.

"You know Mira?" Camilo questioned, confusedly.

"Oh no, I've just seen her around a bunch from my room. And she seems really nice, I was hoping to be her friend maybe.." I questioned, hoping not to seem asocial.

Camilo pov:

No way... has she never had a friend before? And what does she mean by from her room? She's making it sound like she's never left her house before.. Probably shouldn't tell her this to her face.. I'll just show her to Mirabel's room.

"ohhhhh ok I gotcha. Come on, her room's this way." I walked in the direction of Mira's room still thinking about the weird wording she used earlier.

I knocked on Mira's door and called out to her: "Mira!! We got a guest!"

She opened the door quickly looking upset, "Camilo! Why are you always so loud when you come to my room?"

She looked around to see {y/n} standing behind me. "Oh! Mama told me about her! Hi {y/n} I'm Mirabel!"

{y/n} looked excited to see how nice Mira was being, "It's nice to meet you! I've kind of always wanted to be friends with you.." She awkwardly pointed out.

Man how awkward can someone be? I smirked a bit at her awkwardness here.

**

After Mira and {y/n} hung out for a while we all came down for dinner. Tia Julieta got up for a moment and announced:

"Everyone! This is {y/n}, she is a daughter of Mrs. {l/n} and she'll be staying with us until the wedding."

{y/n} awkwardly waved to the massive family sitting around the table. Mira chuckled from beside her. It seems they got along real quickly. I couldn't help but be a little jealous that she didn't get along that well with me. My thoughts lingered on as everyone continued to eat.
