Curses of Rose Petals

Chapter 2

The two kings had been busy taking care of their newborn baby. They had been at the Cacao castle as to keep their child safe. The harsh cold wasn't much of an issue in the warm castle however. But that didn't mean the two dads weren't worried for their baby's safety.

The castle had a section that only the kings could access. It was like a tiny house with the living quarters. As well as it was heavily protected. But it was safe for the couple and their baby so that was all that mattered. As well as warm.

"Nilly, do you think it was a good idea to stay here? I know my kingdom is away from a lot of things but you know it gets deathly cold..." Cacao said with a worried tone as he watched Vanilla make a bottle of milk for their baby. "Cao, I promise it'll be ok. We both know what we're doing and I assure you it'll be fine. And if we need to, we can call Hollyberry." He walked over to the bassinet and gently scooped up the newborn. Dark Choco made a soft coo as he was picked up by his dad. "Why hello sweetheart~!" Vanilla cooed at the baby as he offered him the bottle. "We are NOT getting Holly involved. You know she's not exactly the best to be around." Cacao frowned as he remembered when Holly last had a child. "Well that was awhile ago and I'm sure the excitement wore off. You know she's just very overly caring is all." Vanilla chuckled softly as he fed the newborn. "Either way, I do not want anyone coming here until we are at least settled down." Cao sighed softly and looked at their baby with teary eyes. The two of them were exhausted after giving up so much of their magic and wnergy to create their baby boy. But the two of them were determined to keep him safe and do anything to protect him.

The couple walked around the secluded part of the castle for a bit to stretch their legs. Of course making sure to avoid any open areas. Not even the castle staff knew about the baby. But it wasnt hard to guess what happened when you worked so close to the kings. Or at least consider it an emergency. "Do you want to sleep together for a bit...?" Vanilla asked as he looked up at his husband. Dark Choco had fallen asleep in Vanillas arms and was lightly grabbing onto a plush he had been offered. "I think that would be a wise idea considering all of the energy we just expended. Though I must ask..... will he be alright? My magic isn't exactly stable." Cacao frowned as they headed back to the bedroom. "Cao, you don't use it often but that doesn't mean that its unstable. It just means you have an excess amount. And that isn't going to hurt anything. And he has my magic too. We have given him a part of both of us. And I know it'll be ok because I've done this before. Just, under different circumstances." He kissed his worried husband softly and without waking their baby up. "You're right, you're always right." Cacao smiled and kissed back as he held his husband's hand while they walked. "Thank you, Nilly." He said softly as to not wake up the sleeping child.

They got back to the bedroom and Vanilla gently placed the baby into the bassinet to sleep. Dark Chocolate didn't wake up thankfully and the kings gave a small sigh of relief. "Shall we?" Cacao had already got their night clothes out and was already dressed in his. Vanilla smiled as he quickly changed into his own. The two got into their bed and snuggled up. Of course they both passed out immediately from being exhausted from all of the magic drain. It was absolutely worth it of course. But now they had to deal with a new threat.... their friends.

(674 words. Oh my god the last chapter was from November 2021. Today is January 18, 2022. But i finally got past the writers block to get this sucker written. Mind you it'll be cross posted. But I'm excited to continue!)
