"She got nominated, so, yeah." Matt said.
I groaned. Things have been awkward for Lauren and I ever since we broke up. We hadn't talked, and we kinda were avoiding each other.
We were suposed to be in Europe right now, but a crisis in nearly every place we were going to (Greece, Romania, and Rome) caused us to postpone it. At least for now.
We got out of the van, and we all stepped on the carpet. Sure enough, just ahead of us, was Lauren and Vic.
Lauren looked amazing. She was wearing grey, black and gold, and those colors blended with her hair so well she looked... well... amazing.
Vic was holding her hand, which surprised me. He glanced over at us, and nudged Lauren who was still looking at the camera's.
He pulled her away, and the crowd cheered for us.
"I LOVE YOU!" one girl screamed. I smiled and went over to the barricades, and hugged her. She started crying, which I guess was good.
Twitter was going crazy on my phone in my jeans, but I had turned my phone on silent. I'd check it later.
Once the award show got started, I spotted Lauren and Vic again. They were sitting together, and Vic had his arms around her. A weird feeling developed in my stomach. Jealousy, I guess.
She had her head on his shoulder, and they were talking about something. He made her laugh, and a few moments later he laughed too.
"Josh dude, you look like you're about to puke." Mike said. I shook my head, and looked back at the guys.
"Sorry. And I'm fine." I said.
"Is Lauren dating Vic again?" I asked Matt.
Matt shrugged, took out his phone, and texted her. I looked behind me, and watched Lauren take her phone from Vic's jacket (which I didn't understand) and text back.
Matt's phone rang, and he read the text out load. "Yeah. Only been together a few days. Nothing too serious." he said.
I glanced back, and the guys caught on to I guess the reason I looked sick.
"Eh, don't worry Josh. She must not like him too much, because look around her neck." Mike said.
I glanced back, and squinted a bit. I realized she still had the key necklace I had given her for her birthday two years ago, around her neck.
I smiled. "She still has it." I mumbled happily.
When the awards were starting to be announced, Lauren's was one of the first. Turns out it was Collaboration of the Year. The person giving out the awards (I suck with names) named out the nominees.
"I know this was a song from late 2012, early 2013, but it definitely reached it's peak this year. The winner of Collaboration of the Year is Artists Against Bullying, True Colors!" the man said.
Jacob and his girlfriend stood up, Alyssa stood up, Pierre and his wife stood up, Lauren and Vic stood up, and everyone else in the song stood up and went up on stage.
Vic stood behind them with the others.
"We all worked so hard on this song, and it's amazing to win an award for it!" Alyssa said.
"And it's great because of this song, the baby of the group gets her first award show!" Jacob laughed, ruffling Lauren's hair. Her cheeks turned red and she laughed.
The rest of the group laughed and cheered.
They read off a few people they'd like to thank, then they all left in a pack.
. . .
In the end, we ended up winning 8 awards, and I won the ninth for Songwriter of the Year. We stayed for the after party, but surprisingly, not a lot of people did.
Vic and Lauren stayed along the sides of the room, quietly chatting to themselves.
Lauren's P.O.V.
"Lauren, I know you haven't gotten over Josh yet." Vic said, sipping his drink.
"What? Why would you think that?" I asked.
"Oh, I don't know.. Maybe it's because you haven't taken the necklace he gave you off since you guys broke up." Vic said.
I looked down and realized he was right. The necklace had become so much of a part of me I forgot to take it off.
"But -" I started.
"I think you should go talk to him." Vic said. That surprised me.
"Really? I don't." I said.
"Lauren, it's been awkward between the two of you for weeks. You can't escape everything." he said.
"Really because I'm doing a pretty good job at it. Houdini, remember?" I asked, moving to go to the door.
"You're no Houdini now. Maybe when you were a kid, but you can't escape this." Vic said.
"Watch me." I said.
I started walking away, and I felt Vic pick me up. He slung me over his shoulder. I pounded his back, and tried to kick him, but I couldn't help but laugh.
"VIC PUT ME DOWN!" I shrieked.
"Okay." he shrugged.
He set me down, and I didn't realize what he did. I whipped around, I walked straight into Josh. Despite the fact I was in heels, Josh was still a few inches taller then me. I hated that, because that meant I had to look up at him.
Matt, Mike, Ian and Vic went over to the other side of the room. And Josh and I remained silent for a bit.
"So..." Josh started.
"So..." I repeated.
We both turned to leave, but Matt pushed Josh back towards me, and Vic pushed me towards Josh.
"Talk!" they ordered.
"We have nothing to talk about!" we both said.
"Vic, if you love me you won't make me talk to him!" I said.
"Matt, if you love me you won't make me talk to her!" Josh said. Matt shrugged and pushed Josh again, but Vic bit his lip.
Eventually he shrugged and pushed me towards Josh again.
"VIC YOU ARE A JACKASS!!!!!" I screamed. We were probably the only ones left at the after party besides Jacob and Carly Rae Jepsen, so I wasn't really making a scene.
Sooooo... that was the chapter! I honestly can't think of how their conversation will go, so I had to stop it here. ANOTHER STUPID NOT REALLY A CONTEST CONTEST TIME! What will their conversation go like? You have until tomorrow, at 6:30PM Newfoundland Time. Good luck!
