Another day another job gone. This was Al's 4th job he got fired from. He has tried nearly every job available to him but always ended up carrying a box of his stuff back to his house because he had been fired.

There was no telling why they had fired him, he was one of the best employees all his previous jobs had ever had, so why? Al would always blame it on his height. He had been a small man his whole life, often mistaken for a student by newcomers, and his whole life Al was bullied for his small figure. It upset him a lot but as if there was anything he could do about it. This was the 1920s so it was hard for a grown man his height to find a job. At least where he lived.

"Why must I be like this?" Al sighed to himself as he unlocked the door to his tiny apartment. It was pretty decent considering he cant even keep a job. He dropped his box next to the front door and collapsed onto the couch. He had 1 final job to check out and if this one fired him he was done, homeless with nothing.

With a while of thinking Al decided that he would try for the job. Even though he knew he wouldn't be able to keep it he tried his best not to think about it. Al got up from the couch and began to get ready for the night. Ate a small dinner, took a shower, brushed his teeth, and went to bed. He had to be ready for the interview tomorrow.

*RINGGGG RINGGG RINGGG-*
Al shot awake smacking his alarm off his nightstand.

"Ohhh fuck fuck FUCK IM GOING TO BE LATE!" Al jumped out of bed throwing on yesterday's clothes and grabbing a piece of fruit for breakfast. He had overslept by accident and the job interviews start in less than 10 minutes. Al scrabbled to get his shoes on and out the door, running as fast as his little legs allowed him.

He arrived just in time completely out of breath but with hope to keep this job. So he walked in with confidence and started his interview.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Al got the job! He started immediately and soon became that jobs best employee also.
This job was the job to stay with him longer than usual as soon the great depression was to start and they needed employees desperately. Al for sure thought that this job was the one for him, they kept him for much longer and even paid him quite well, but never had he hated himself more for thinking that after just 2 days ago.

He gotten fired again. No reason at all. Just fired. Al was on the streets after 3 months of not being able to pay his rent, as for it was also the time of the great depression so his hunger was also on the line.

Al wandered the streets looking for hopefully to find something to possibly eat. He was so skinny you could see his ribs clearly, no one approached him because of it. Al was miserable, he felt like death. He wanted death, just couldn't bring himself to end it all. So he stopped and sat on the curb of the street while the sky got darker and rain started dripping down.

"This sucks. So god damn much.." Al complained to himself out loud, he would just have to wait for starvation to kill him off tears starting to run down his face as he sat there longer. Soon he was full on crying, covering his face with his hands crying. No one was coming to save him so as he thought when he heard someone approach him.

"Hey there young man." A male voice spoke out. Al looked up and wiped his tears away.

"Hi..?" Confused on why someone was talking to him when no one wanted to. He and the man stared at each other for a second before the man bent down on his knees.

"Whats the matter? Loneliness got you down?"

"Yeah, that and I lost my house, cant keep a job, I have no one here for me, I'm starving...just too much going on."

"I see, well I have something that may make you feel better," the man pulled a sharp kitchen knife from his pocket and handed it to Al.
"See that person over there?" The man pointed to a woman standing by a lamp post waiting for the night bus. Al nodded looking at the woman then back.

"Kill her." Al sat for a second pondering what he had heard. Then he got it.

"Kill her? Are you CRAZY?" The man did no more than walk away leaving Al up to the decision. Kill the woman? Why would he to that? Its not like he could, but something in him wanted it. Something Al had never felt before.

Al stood up from the curb, knife in hand and walked over to the woman.

"Oh, hello young man are you waiting for the bus too?" The woman noticed Al standing there. Al didn't answer. "Uh, hello?" Al finally looked up with a smile on his face, pulled out the knife and stabbed her in the center of her chest. The feeling it brought him was certainly new, a feeling that brought him a kind of high. He liked it, so he pulled the knife out and stabbed again repeating the process over and kver again until he was coverd in her blood.

"Oh....wow."
