The fire alarm rang throughout as Stiles'than hand rested on it, y/n smiled at him before her gaze moved to see her dad standing behind him Stiles' face then dropped seeing the look on hers making him turn around slowly spotting coach "Wow."

"Pulling a fire alarm on Mischief Night is one thing." Coach said as he gripped into the boys ear and pulled him out of the school y/n trailing behind "Doing it when there's a mass murderer spotted nearby is insane! If I was four years younger, I'd punch you."

"What?" Stiles asked confused "Coach, that doesn't make sense."

"Oh, well, it does to me!" He then walked away, y/n pointed towards the rest of the group

"There."

"We didn't find anything." Aiden told them when they made it to the others

"Not even a scent" Stiles added

"It's 3:00, so school's over." Y/n furrowed her brows "If there was a bomb, wouldn't he have set it off by now?"

"Does that mean everybody's safe?" Aiden asked

"I don't know" lydia shrugged "I just- I don't know"

Y/n watched as stiles pinned string to different things on the wall, she sat cross cross on his bed playing with the hem of the hoodie he lent her

"What do the different colored strings mean?"

"Oh, just different stages of the investigation." He nodded "So green is solved, yellow is to be determined, blue's just pretty."

"What does red mean?" She asked looking at the one color string he had up

"Unsolved."

"You only have red on the board."

"Yes, I'm aware. Thank you"

"Did you get detention for pulling the alarm?" Y/n asked feeling bad for making this happen

"Yep. Every day this week." He looked back to see the look on her face as she wrapped the string around her finger "It's okay, though. We were onto something."

"Yup, Even though we couldn't find any proof of Barrow being there?" She sighed looking down at her fingers

"Hey" Stiles bent down to her level and placed his hands on top of hers stopping them from moving "You and Lydia have been right every time something like this has happened, okay? So don't start doubting yourself now."

"No scent. No bomb." She watched as he let go of her hands "And I got you in trouble."

"Okay, look." He told her softly before unravling the string as she watched him "Barrow was there. All right? You knew it. You felt it. Okay? And look, if you wanted to, I'd go back to that school right now and search all night just to prove it." She smiled at him and watched as he pushed a peice of hair out of her face with one hand as the other held the sharpie and he rested his chin on the same one. He pulled his hand away and uncapped it quickly before smelling it and looking at the girl before standing up "Get up. Get up now. We're going to the school."

They entered the school and went to the chemical closet

"So what are we looking for?" Y/n asked as Stiles just opened it "That was supposed to be locked."

"Yeah. I know." He nodded "notice anything else?"

"It smells like chemicals." She stated confused then it hit her "They wouldn't have been able to catch his scent."

Stiles looked at the ground and shine his light on bloody staples that sat on the ground "He was here, performing very minor surgery on himself. You were right"

"Then why don't I feel good about this?" She asked her breath quickening

"Probably because he was here to kill somebody." Stiles school his head

"But who?"

"That's what we gotta figure out." He stood up as they exited the chemical closet and looked around the chemistry room "We could spread out, start looking for Anything." Y/n walked towards the chalkboard and stopped in front of it
"Y/n, what are those?"

"Atomic numbers."

"Is it a formula?"

"Not really." She shook her head before grabbing a book opening to the correct page immediately "19's potassium. The first two make potassium iodide"

Stiles watched as the girl wrote down a K "Potassium is K?"

"From kalium, the scientific neo-Latin name." She nodded seeing as Lydia had helped her study this, she wrote down an I on the next

"What's radium?"

"R-A" she finished before backing away

"Kira."

Stiles' and y/n made it to Kara's house to see a figure lying on the ground

"Scott!" Stiles ran to the boy that layed on the floor "Scott? Scott!"

"Barrow, he took Kira!" Scott sat up

"We know." Y/n nodded "He was after her the whole time."

Scott stood up frantically and dialled something on his phone before putting it up to his ear

"Issac hey"

After a few minutes Scott hung up and turned to the others "We have to think of something. He's going to kill her."

"I knew he was there." Y/n statedd this all getting to real for her "How did I know that?"

"Because you heard the flies, right?" Stiles asked

"What do you hear now?" Scott faced her

"Nothing." She shook her head "im not Lydia, I feel like I can do this. But I don't know what to do. It's like it's on the tip of my tongue, and I don't know how to trigger it. I just I swear to God, it literally makes me want to scream."

Stiles stepped closer "Okay, then scream. Y/n, scream."

And just like that, an ear piercing scream was let out before it stopped ubrubtly and she heard it again

"It's not flies." She turned around quickly  making stiles jump "It's electricity."

"Wait a second, Barrow was an electrical engineer." Stiles looked at Scott "He worked at a power substation."

"What substation?"

~

Scott stopped his bike as Stiles stopped his Jeep, y/n unbuckled but he stopped her

"Okay. Wait here, all right?" He turned and opened his door  "Just wait for the cops to come."

"Me?" She asked confused as he went to her door "Wait, why?"

"I only got one bat" he showed her before pecking her lips and running off

The two ran away leaving the girl frozen in shock and it was all quiet until a loud boom came from the building, the girl got out of the Jeep to come face to face with Lydia. The girl jumped back and away from the red head

"What the hell are you doing here"

"I could feel it"

And with that the lights all around them began to shut off
