Chapter 3: "I wish i could live without you but you're a part of me"

"y/n!" abuela called. "oops we gotta go" i said jumping off the counter and going over to the dining table. "sorry i was busy with something" i said sitting down. "right" abuela said as the family looked at Camilo walking to the table right behind me. Dolores let out a muffled laughed. Isa smiled and winked at me. Camilo sat next to me and glared at Juan from across the table.

I started to eat my food and abuela tried to start small talk. "So em Juan did you get to know y/n a bit better" she asked. He looked me and up and down and put his attention back on abuela "you could say that yes" he continued to eat. I mostly pushed my food around taking an occasional bite but i wasn't really in the mood to eat. "y/n are you ok?" Camilo asked the rest of the family too busy asking Juan questions to hear him. "Yeah just its one of those days you know" i said grabbing his hand under the table. "yeah i know" he looked down. "but you still have to eat at least a bit" he said smiling at our hands intertwined. He picked up some rice and beans and lifted his fork. "Come on i'll do it with you" he said. I giggled and picked up some food "okay". We both took a bite together looking at each other and we laughed.

Abuela looked at us and gave a look saying 'stop'. "Eh Camilo" she said. "Yes?" he asked. "Go get the dessert mijo" she told him. "Ok" he said getting up "Shouldn't y/n do it instead i mean she is the one looking to marry she should prepare" Juan butted in. Dolores and Isabela looked shocked and Luisa and Mirabel were clenching the table trying their hardest not to say anything. "Right, y/n go get the dessert for us" Juan stood up. My eye twitched and Camilo's fists were clenched. I nodded and while walking past Camilo i put my hand on his shoulder to tell him to cool off for a second. "i'll go help her" Mirabel said walking to the kitchen with me.

"Oh my goodness" she said in the kitchen. "i know Abuela just let him." i said rolling my eyes. "god i can't stand people like that, i needed to talk Antonio out of sending his animals on him" mirabel laughed. "you should've let him it would've been amazing" i scoffed. "yeah but the last thing he needs right now is problems with abuela" mirabel said taking the flan from the table. "She wants it cold do you mind?" mirabel asked placing the dessert in front of me "yeah" i said and blew a cold breeze on it. "thanks" she smiled and walked out. I quickly followed behind her.

I get back in my seat and Camilo looks over at Juan and back at me "what's with him" he scoffed and i snickered. "oops i dropped my fork" Camilo said slowly and jerked his head under the table "o-oh me too" i said and went under the table. "are you just gonna let him do that, that's not like you" Camilo whispered. "yeah but i don't want a ten hour lecture from the old lady" i whispered back. Dolores laughed loudly assuming she heard us. "what if she thought it was an accident not on purpose" Camilo said. "He's drinking water" Camilo said nudging me "alright alright" i said and sat back up in my seat. Camilo hit his head on the way up which made Pepa smack in on his head.

I waited until everyone was distracted and with a movement of my fingers Juan's glass of water was all over him. "Alright i think it's time we get the party started" Abuela said trying to stay calm.

"Y/n go entertain the kids" she told me. I nodded and got up quickly forgetting i was holding Camilo's hand dragging him with me. "Oops" i said awkwardly letting go and heading to the door.

The party was going well and i was with the little ones since the adults were in the kitchen drinking. "ok what do you guys wanna see" i asked sitting down on the floor with them. "fire tricks!" they yelled. "ok let's see what can we do" i said. A flame appeared on my hand and when i blew on it a big dragon formed. They all stared in awe and started to clap. "Pretty cool huh?" i laughed and smiled. "Who wants snow" i asked and held my hand up and make little snowflakes fall as they danced around in it.
