Chapter 3: "I wish i could live without you but you're a part of me"

Start from the beginning

"calm down a bit" she told me "maybe Juan won't even like her". "How could he not?" i said sitting down next to Dolores. "What do you mean?" she raised an eyebrow.

"I mean she's awesome."
"I could've told you that but what do you like about her?"
"She's funny, pretty, sweet, great with kids, and her gift fits her perfectly"
"Wow it's almost like you think she's cooler than you"
"Are you kidding me. She's way cooler than me."

Dolores looked at me grinning ear to ear. "you really like her dont you" she nudged me. "Don't start" i said. "Or what?" she rolled her eyes. "Or i'll introduce you personally to mariano and embarrass you a bit too" i said. She went wide eyed and left immediately.

I scoffed and looked at myself in the mirror. Hm let's hope he doesn't look better than me.

Y/n POV:
"thank you isabela" i said hugging her. "of course" she said sniffing tears streaming down her face. "don't worry about me i'll be ok" i headed back to me my room waving goodbye.

"Y/n he's here you have to come out now" abuela knocked on my door. I looked at myself in the mirror playing with my hair. "Coming" i said softly. Is this the only way she'll be pleased with me?

I opened my door and there was Camilo waiting for me as usual. "thank you" i said hugging him. "don't worry about it" he laughed in my ear "now get down there before she gets mad" "i know i said i would do something i haven't quite figured out yet what it'll be but i promise i'll do something" i said letting go of his hand and walking down the stairs.

The Guzmàns stood at the doorway along with everyone else. "this is y/n" abuela stood behind me placing a hand on my shoulder. I forced a smile and Mariano stood to the side presenting a tall black haired boy. His posture had a sense of macho energy which had already thrown me off. His eyes stared down at me which i also felt extremely uncomfortable with. "this is Juan he is 15 years old and he- well i'll let him tell you about himself" abuela said and called the rest of the family to the dining table .

"hello" he said his voice was deep and i could tell he was puffing out his chest. "hi" i said while smiling.
"im juan and i think this arrangement will benefit both our families and help the encanto grow" he sounded just like her. "right so what do you like to do in your free time like a hobby" i asked trying to get past the formal stuff. "i help my father work" he said "cool cool but like do you like to do anything else maybe like cooking or pranks or painting" "no" "right ok well um im gonna go help in the kitchen" i said heading away. "just as you should" he said pushing past me to the dining table.

I was about to ask him to repeat what he said because there was no way someone would say something so extremely rude straight to the face of the person they were trying to marry. "Excuse me?" i heard a voice from behind me. I turned around to find Camilo looking furious. "Yes?" Juan asked looking back. "who are you?" he asked. "Camilo" "Oh right your Abuela mentioned you to me she went on about a curly brown haired boy who was trying to butt in" Juan said walking towards Camilo.
Before anything could escalate i took Camilo's hand and walked him over to the kitchen.

"What the- y/n i was just about to kick that guys ass" Camilo said sounding frustrated. "Right, like he's not as tall as Luisa" i laughed and hopped up on the counter. "i could've taken him" Camilo said sitting next to me. "sure" i said placing my head on his shoulder. "he's a jerk" i said playing with Camilo's fingers. "Want me to stick with you the rest of the night?" he asked. "please" "of course anything for you y/n" he said. i smiled "the towns coming over for a party later i think we could sneak off and no one would notice" i told him. "your the reason for the party i'm pretty sure they'd notice" he laughed. "then we can just stay together" i said "all night" he told me and kissed my cheek.
