the last moments from quentin beck's broadcast sent all of the states on the edge of their seat
"spider-man's real name is peter parker"
his school photo appeared on every screen in times square
as soon as she heard this, florence felt chills run down her spine knowing what was coming next
"and black cats's real name is florence hardy"
the girl has dark cherry hair. she is barely smiling in the school photo that is now being shown to the world
"i'm sure i have better pictures out there" florence rolled her eyes, staring at the photo
j. jonah hameson's face appeared on the screen, "that's right, folks. peter parker and florence hardy. seventeen year old high school deliquents harboring a homicidal hunger are in fact the vile vigilante villains know as spiderman and the black cat" he spat, "these masked menaces have been deceiving the public for years-"
florence shared a look with mj before peter came in full swing and attempted to talk to them. phones being shoved in their faces and photos being taken was interrupting their thoughts
peter acted fast and grabbed mj, swinging away
"guess i'll get away myself" florence tried to yell to peter before he got too far
florence had her black suit on as she swung away too, using her little grappling hooks
landing on the top of the queensborough bridge, the three met up. another screen had the two young avengers faces on it with "public enemy #1" in red scribbled on it
"what are we gonna do?" mj asked frantically
peter paced, "i don't know! your house?" he asked mj
"no, no! we cannot go to my house, my dad will kill you!"
"what? i thought you said your dad really liked me?"
mj scoffed, "yeah, well not anymore!"
eyes from below were burning on the three. a huge crowd formed as everyone pointed their phones up in the air
swinging off the bridge, florence followed the couple as they headed into the window of peter's bedroom. she somehow walked into the awkwardest moment of her life
"what the hell!" florence exclaimed as she barely makes it into the window before she turned around again
peter had no shirt or pants on with mj standing next to him as happy and aunt may lectured them with the door open
"have you been crying?" peter asks happy, who is now out of the door frame
he came back into the frame to reply, "we broke up"
mj helps peter put on a shirt as florence shuts the window and the blinds behind her
"i thought you were in love, may" peter says as he brings may out into the living room with everyone following behind
as they're walking, mj shuts the front door. florence starts closing every window and blinds. a neighbor continuously knocked on door, trying to get in on the drama
may sat down on the couch, "i didn't know you were so awkward about sex, peter" may whispers
"this has nothing to do with sex!" peter exclaimed, face turning red
"look, i'm really feeling like i shouldn't be apart of this conversation. i should go, but if you wanna go over it, i mean-" the commotion from the street began to come through the closed windows. happy asked, "what's that sound?"
happy turned to may, "i don't know what to do here. i mean, i'm happy to rehash it if you want to. but i don't-"
"no, you take care of your side of the street and i'll take care of mine" may replied. her phone began lighting up, "what's happening with my phone?"
florence rips their phones out of their hands, "will you get off your phones for like 5 minutes! i just wanna talk to you about your relationship, okay?" peter shouts, having a slight breakdown
"peter.." mj says as she points to the tv behind him, which is broadcasting live outside of his apartment building
peter turns around with a gasp as florence sighs
"is that here?" happy asks
peter, with no words, walks over to the window with his head down and opens the blinds, revealing all the news helicopters
"i mean, maybe it's not such a big deal?"
