Lake Karachay was famed for being such a deadly place that, if you stood near the contaminated waters long enough, you would simply die.

But the locals didn't think the "Soviet Nuclear Dumping" was true. Something was lurking under those waters, something too deadly and evil and too despicable for even the government to handle. It was all a ruse.

A lie.

A coverup.

And that was why I was here. I walked along the rocky egde of the lake, watching the area with a stuck eye. There was something there, I had seen a ripple of black under the surface.

Something moved.

I stopped walking, just listening and watching. There was a streak of green, seaweed green, and a tiny flash of white. What was under those waters? I would soon find out.

As I took one step towards the water, I heard a ghostly singing rising from the deep.

I was alive just long enough to remember a cave and a terrible drowning death.
