When Puffy was younger, she liked to go on random adventures most of the time. She would run off into the night and meet up with friends. She normally came back after an hour or two so her mom didn't get worried. But there were times that she didn't come back home.
One of these times she never came back. After a while, Her mom got severely worried. It was unlike her to disappear like this. She asked Puffy's friends if they knew where she was, but they said nothing. They knew what she was doing though. She was working on becoming a pediatric psychologist. She was working with kids during a war in L'manburg. A lot of parents were lost in battle, Causing a lot of kids to end up in orphanages. It was Puffy's job to help them in the process.
One of the kids she worked with was someone named Clay. Clay had lost his father when he was 5 to an overdose. He didn't like to talk but he used sign language. Puffy knew sign language, so it wasn't hard to understand him. 'How are you doing today?' She signed to him. 'Better than yesterday' he signed back. 'What happened yesterday?'. He explained that his foster family sent him back because they couldn't put up with his trauma. 'Oh. I hope your next one's better.'
Clay's in a better home and hasn't talked to Puffy in a while. Puffy is now working with a kid named Tommy. He has been in the orphanage for 14 years now. Tommy came there when he was 18 months old (1.5 years). His parents brought him there due to money issues. They couldn't afford to care for him and his older brother Toby.
Tommy and Toby were 17 years old. Tommy's birthday was April 9th, 2004. Toby's birthday was December 23, 2003. Meaning Toby was 4 months older. Tommy acted more mature than him, but it was for a good reason. Toby lost a lot of his childhood due to the families he was in. Tommy understood this and tried his best to act older so that Toby could be spared. That didn't work most of the time since most people want a younger kid since they stay longer.
Toby started to drift away from Tommy and real life in general. Tommy was worried about his older brother. He had told Puffy that Toby had stopped talking to anyone. Puffy said that she would try to teach Tommy ways to 'talk' to him without having to vocalize.
A few weeks later they started sign language lessons. Tommy was a fast learner and picked up on it quite quickly. After a few days, Tommy was able to use sign language without thinking. When he tried to 'talk' to Toby using what he learned, he responded. 'Hey, are you ok?'. 'Yeah, why?'. 'You just seemed way more distant than normal.'. 'Oh. Thanks for noticing. I didn't at all'. 'I don't blame you'. That's how the conversation went. Ever since then they have been using sign to communicate with each other. They were adopted a few years ago by Phil and his sons Wilbur and Techno. Puffy later was asked to be one of the caregivers at Rosewell Orphanage. She got the job and has been helping a lot of kids with adjusting to the place. One of her friends works there.
She has been working there since she was 16. She is now 21 and was promoted to manager 2 years ago. Puffy started this journey when she was 18. She is now 22 and has adopted 2 kids from the orphanage.
