About The Situation

On 12/05/2021 a 17 year old girl named Edaline Carter passed away. She was in a toxic and abusive relationship with her grandparents, and she wasn't able to get help in time. She was struggling with mental health issues, and they forced her to do things that only made matters worse, and was abused when she tried to do something about it.

A friend of @chaotic_nerd93 received a message from her grandmother saying "She is done for. She has had enough chances. So say goodbye to your little pet."

On the same day, @Broken-Phoenix tried to call multiple different helplines and hotlines, two didn't allow reporting of abuse, and the South Dakota CPS office, wasn't open, so no one was available to talk to. This needs to change. Edaline still had a chance, she still could have been saved, but these numbers that are supposed to help stop things like this from happening, didn't have a way to provide.

These offices and websites are set up to protect children like Edaline, but you can't help them if you don't allow reporting, or are not available 24/7. It's because of things like this that abuse isn't stopped, and that children like her die.

We need to change the way these hotlines and helplines work, they need to all be available for reporting abuse, and they need to all be available 24/7. Abuse isn't something that stops on weekends.

Give Edaline the justice she deserves, help change they way these sources are setup, so they can truly help those who need it. Bring her and others like her justice, no one deserves to stay in that situation.

After I heard the story, my eyes were tearing up. I can't believe that happened. So, sign the petition online to bring Edaline to JUSTICE. The link will be on my profile or in the description of this story. Let's stop abuse from happening! 👍👍👍

A/N: I need anyone who knew Edaline to message me. I already have sent messages to @Broken-Phoenix, @chaotic_nerd93, and @everyday-amazing. Can you guys please message me back.

~RIP Edaline~
