His Xiong Zhang's word really struck on his heart. He thought: "hmm what is the real happiness if you make someone unhappy?"

So he decided not to follow his brother and father's footsteps.

After a huge struggle Lan Xichen could finally be with his bride who is now the young mistress of Gusu Lan family. At first Lan Wangji couldn't talk with her. But eventually he noticed that she is very lively and knows his inner feelings like how much his brother knows. Lan Wangji started to accept her as his sister in law.

YiYi was very smart even though she was not from a good family. After the family was very pleased with her good behaviour she became adapted to the aristocratic environment. 

Years passed. Lan Wangji turned 20. Lan Xichen is now blessed with a boy and a girl. Wangji has his own little nephew and niece to play with. But he is socially very awkward. One day Lan Qiren invited Lan Wangji into his study.

"Did you called me shufu?"

Lan Qiren, "oh yes. I want to say happy birthday to you Wangji."

Lan Wangji nodded solemnly and said, "thank you, shufu. Is this what you want to tell me?"

Lan Qiren grinned, "not only that. You've turned 20. It's time, you need to settle down."

Lan Wangji didn't got any idea what his uncle is implying at. He spoke calmly, "I don't understand shufu. Could you tell me?"

Lan Qiren said, "you know Luo Qingyang, right?"

Lan Wangji nodded, "yes! We are family friends to the Luo family. But you still haven't told me the exact reason."

Lan Qiren said, "her father send me a letter and said to fix your marriage with her. This is a very auspicious match. You and Luo Guniang know each other, right?"

Lan Wangji wasn't surprised. If his shufu really struggled to bring this conversation it must be for this. He stayed silent knowing what was happening.

Lan Wangji said, "shufu, it's true I know her. But we met only for 2-3 times."

Lan Qiren tried to smile, "you two would be very adorable. I know that Luo Guniang is a very good girl and she would be a very loving wife for my dear nephew."

Lan Wangji couldn't say anything. He remembered his brother words 6 years ago. But seeing his uncle's smiling face really made him to think what his brain said.
