Everything was in chaos at cloud recesses. Young master Lan Xichen, the eldest son of the well known noble man Qingcheng Jun is caught in an affair. Of course he was well known for his ethereal handsomeness, which is really a daily subject for the ladies in Gusu. He really brought a girl to cloud recesses which made his uncle Lan Qiren very unhappy.

On that day they had a terrible argument, "Xichen, you ! what have you done? You made our family in discreet!"

Lan Xichen said, "shufu, I love her. The engagement you fixed for me when I was in my infancy it will not happen. I can't love a woman with whom I'm not in love with."

Hearing Xichen's words Lan Qiren felt really ashamed of his elder nephew.

He shouted, "Love? Your father followed the same path; hmph, loving a woman who killed his own teacher."

He didn't realise that his nephew could talk back to him. Ever since Lan Xichen and his Younger brother Lan Wangji's parents were dead Lan Qiren is more like a father to them. When he saw Xichen's determination to be with the girl he loves he couldn't push this matter any further and silently nodded to his words and left.

While their argument is going on there was a little boy who were hiding behind the door was hearing the conversation in silence and he was very sad to see the sadness reflected in his shufu's face.

Lan Xichen crouched to his knees and spoke, "Wangji, this is your sister in law."

Lan Xichen's wife said, "hello Wangji."

Lan Wangji felt ashamed to face the woman. He turned his face away. So she said, "Xichen, I think Wangji is unhappy about the events. I'll leave you."

She walk silently leaving them alone.

He saw the sadness in his little brothers eyes. Those honey gold eyes, the same eyes which their mother has looked at him and said, "Xiong Zhang, you made shufu unhappy."

Lan Xichen's eyes felt wet. He spoke calmly not to make his Wangji to feel bad. "Wangji, Xiong Zhang couldn't do it. I know shufu will hate me. But I wouldn't feel happy. Do you want to see your Xiong Zhang unhappy?"

Lan Wangji replied, "no. I want both of you to be happy."

Lan Xichen understood that innocent heart better than anyone.As he rebelled against his shufu this has made Wangji's future into a catastrophic situation.

Lan Xichen said, "Wangji, some happiness have a price. And I chose what I feels. I couldn't have an arranged marriage. I couldn't even look into her eyes if I agree to shufu's arrangement. Me and Yi Yi loved each other for 2 years."

Her name is Yi Yi. Lan Xichen met her during his travels. The reason Lan Qiren was against their relationship is because of her status. The Gusu Lan family is one of the highest aristocratic families in Gusu. As for YiYi her alliance was a disgrace to the elders of the Lan family and Lan Xichen did the opposite: he married her secretly and came to Gusu, accompanying her to receive his uncle's blessings.

Lan Wangji was still holding his little rabbit in his hand feeling a bit sorry for his uncle and brother. Lan Xichen continued, "in the future when you've grown up. You have to stand up for yourself. Or else it will destroy you."
