I woke up to the blaring sound of my alarm clock.

Rolling over towards it, I smacked the alarm clock a few times to get it to stop making noises.

After the fourth time of abusing the thing, I squinted at the light that had streamed into my room from the open silk curtains that hung on the sides of my bedroom window .

I must've forgotten to close them yesterday before going to bed.

I crawled out of my queen sized bed (Probably the most comfortable bed that you could ever sleep on) and headed into the living room.

The living room had polished birch wood floors and big windows that displayed a magical view of snow topped mountains and a lake that reflected the mountains and trees like a self portrait would reflect a person.

The couches were made from a light grey fabric which felt like velvet. In the middle of the living room there was a nice rectangle shaped coffee table with a soft carpet underneath.

I rubbed my eyes to adjust to the morning light that danced through the living room windows.

"Good morning" My dad's gravely voice welcomed. "You would have been late for school if you slept in any longer." He sipped his coffee from a mug that he had gotten from my mother before she had passed away.

My mother's name was Adeline swan. She had been diagnosed with cancer when I was 11 and passed away in the following year. She and I were very close. We always had a mother daughter day every weekend.

We knew everything about each other.. losing her was probably the hardest thing I would ever endure.

After quickly wiping my tear soaked eyes with the sleeve of my sweater, I turned my attention towards the clock that hung over the small kitchen sink window.

it read: 6:30 am. My first day of high school started at 7:00 and I had planned to grab a drink from the Starbucks down the road.

"Oh shoot" I groaned. It was Monday and I had forgotten to set my alarm clock to my usual 5:40 am "wake up time."

I hadn't eaten breakfast, gotten dressed, showered, or even fixed my messy bed covers.

Worst of all, I had forgotten to wash my clothes. Now, all that was left in my closet was a few of the shirts and pants that I had decided I didn't care much for.

I heard my Dad chuckle at my incompetence. How could he laugh? at a time like This?!

"Thanks so much for waking me up Dad." I rolled my eyes and practically stomped to my room.

After making my bed and showering, I quickly blow dried my hair and fixed it up so that it stayed in loose waves.

After I was satisfied with the glossy dark brown waves i had managed to create, I quickly ran to my bedroom and grabbed a plain sweater from my closet and blue ripped jeans to pair with it.

I smiled at myself in the tall mirror in my bedroom. I don't look too bad.

I walked into the brightly lit kitchen; opening the fridge. From the fridge I grabbed some turkey, ham, pepperoni, and pepper jack cheese that I could use to make a breakfast sandwich. (I don't really care much for vegetables and sauce on my sandwiches).

I wrapped up my sandwich and walked to the front door where my shoes were waiting. Sadly, so was my Dad. "Hey kiddo! Are those new clothes?" His smile told me that he knew they were old clothes.. but since he wanted to play that game, so would I. "Yup. These are new. I bought them with your credit card last week."

His smile dropped and he looked at me with shock. I laughed at the expression painted across his face. "Oh come on Dad! You know I would never use your card without your permission."

He let out a chuckle; coming to wrap an arm around my shoulder. "You got me good kiddo.."

I smiled triumphantly and hugged my Dad goodbye.

~At The Coffee Shop~

The door bell chimed happily as I walked in.

I looked around in awe at the Comfy light blue and light orange fabric chairs. There were magazines that had been put into frames and hung on a painted wall.

A couple of the walls had large and small metal flowers that were a metallic dark blue.

I was so interested in the interior that I didn't notice the chair in front of me. My leg caught the leg of the chair and we both began to fall.

I squeezed my eyes shut to brace my dramatic fall, but instead, I fell into someones arms.

"Are you alright?" He asked with a crisp British accent. He seemed genuinely concerned for my well-being.

I opened my eyes and looked into his big brown eyes. They were beautiful and had flecks of gold sprinkled throughout them. He also had a dark skin tone and black fluffy hair.

"Y-yeah I'm fine"I lied. I was not fine. A cute guy had just caught me after I dramatically and embarrassingly tripped over a chair. Thankfully, I had managed to get a safe fall.. but I can't say the same for the chair.

I could tell that he was trying not to laugh and instead, he cleared his throat and walked me to the desk.

"Is there anything I can get for you today? accept another chair to trip over?" He winked. Wow.. he just winked at me- with those beautiful brown eye-

"Are you okay?" He tried instead. He must have asked because I wasn't replying! SO embarrassing.. I hope he couldn't tell that I was mentally drooling over him- now That would be a disaster.

"I mean- Yes.. uhm.. can I get an Iced Grande Unsweetened Passion Tea Lemonade with Strawberry Puree?"

He smiled and wrote it down on a piece of paper. "She talks! and yeah- I can definitely get you that.." He joked. "It will be ready in a minute or so."

I thanked him and sat down at one of the smaller tables for two people and patiently waited for him to finish my drink so i could go get it.

When he finished making my drink, to my surprise, he brought it to my table and sat down across from me.

"You must be new in town." He smiled; handing me my drink.
