YangYang was walking to his mother's house to visit her since he hasn't been able to see her in a while. On his way, he spotted a good-looking woman. He approached her and she was startled. "Hello, maiden. You're looking very wonderful on this fine day." YangYang said to the woman and grabbed her hand to kiss it. "Why, thank you, sir. You look handsome yourself." She replied and smiled as he kissed her hand. "What's a maiden like you doing out here alone, anyway?" He asked her and she shrugged before answering. "I'm on my way to pick berries for my supper." She answered and YangYang nodded. "I could help you out if you'd like." He suggested and the woman smiled. "I'd like that a lot, actually." She responded.

"So what's your name?" YangYang asked as he and the woman made their way to a berry bush. "My name is Carol, how about you?" She replied and held her dress up so it wouldn't get dirty while walking. "My name is YangYang. Do you live around here?" He asked her and she nodded. "Yes, I live a few miles south from here." She pointed her finger south of where they were. "Maybe you could invite me for supper? I live a few miles away too." YangYang said and Carol smiled. "I would love to have you over for supper." She beamed. "And is it okay if I bring my mother as well?" YangYang added and Carol nodded, signifying it was okay if his mother came.

They finally made it to a berry bush and Carol picked the berries carefully so they wouldn't squish. YangYang on the other hand, was really rough with the berries, causing them to squish in his hands and make them sticky. "Silly boy, you have to do it carefully like this." She showed him the right way to pick the berries and he followed her motions, successfully picking each berry without squishing them. As they continued their journey, YangYang held both the buckets since he felt like Carol was too beautiful to hold the heavy buckets.

The next stop was YangYang's mother's house. He knocked on the door gleefully and his mother opened up. "Hello! Who is this young woman?" His mother said and motioned towards Carol. "This is my friend, Carol. I helped her pick these berries." YangYang held the buckets up and his mother nodded. "I see. What brings you, son?" His mother asked. "He wanted to see if you would like to eat supper with us over at my home," Carol answered and YangYang nodded in agreement. "I would love to but I can't. I have my own duties to attend to soon." His mother answered apologetically. "Oh, that's okay. I'll see you tomorrow then, mother." YangYang said and he and Carol continued their journey to Carol's home.

Once they got to their final destination, Carol started making the supper while YangYang stood next to her awkwardly, not knowing what to do. "You can sit there." She pointed to a chair and YangYang sat down. "So who do you live with here?" YangYang tried to make conversation with Carol. "My father, but he's away doing business in Salem." She answered and YangYang nodded, immediately understanding what she meant. The food was finished and Carol gave YangYang a plate full of food. YangYang ate everything off his plate and felt relieved after eating something after a long day.

After a passionate night, YangYang had to go home in the morning. "Before I leave, I would like to ask you something." YangYang started and Carol listened attentively. "I loved the time we spent together and I would like to spend time with you every day. Would you like to be my lover from today and then on?" YangYang asked and Carol was taken aback. "YangYang, I can't be with you. I have an arranged marriage soon." Carol admitted and YangYang went silent. YangYang left Carol's home without another word and walked straight to Salem in spite. "I found a witch," YangYang told the people of Salem. The people of Salem asked YangYang to bring them to the witch. YangYang brought the people to Carol's home and they barged inside with weapons ready to hurt her at any time. "We've been told that you are a witch, you must come with us." One of the people said and they put a sack over Carol's head and tied her up and carried her away to Salem.

"Now how should we prove that she's a witch?" One of the people questioned and everyone looked at each other. "I say we tie a brick to her and throw her in the lake. If she swims up, she's a witch but if she drowns then she isn't a witch." YangYang suggested and everyone murmured in agreement. "Any last words, witch?" Someone asked aggressively but they didn't remove the bag from her head. "YangYang, I trusted you to be my friend and I really enjoyed every minute we spent together. I hope you feel some sort of remorse for what you did." Carol said and YangYang stayed silent. They tied a brick to her feet and threw her in the lake. They waited there for a few hours and when they saw she didn't come up from the water, everyone declared that she was not a witch. Everyone continued with their day and YangYang stood in front of the lake and stared into the body of water.
