Apoptosis
On the tissue horizon, I see it moving
I pray, and it’s still nothing near soothing
Pray more that it does not come toward me
The sentinel becomes larger and clear
My termination to dust is near
They have come for me, the foreign detector
I willingly offer my somber receptor
Upon contact the process begins
My degradation to pieces within
Activating my suicidal preset
to prevent myself, a living defect
and my polymer arrangement cleaves
my polymer skeleton, muscles and leaves
Useless fragments of unfolded chain
Cascade through my body, my every membrane
I release from my symbiotic engine
An anything but beautiful ending
Cytochrome; to construct the finishing death wish
Apoptosome; the last enzyme synthetics
I’m succumbing completely, to self-governed kinetics
One servant of trillions, I’ll never regret it
As I’m dissolving from my cancerous prophetic
Into my beloved cascade to protect it
