Walking into school, tugging at my green skirt making sure it was sitting the right length; I twirl my hair as Stiles runs up to my side and we stop in front of Scott who looks worried as hell, placing his helmet on his bike as Jackson pulls up next to him and stops his car, and his door hits Scott in the back, making him turn around to see Jackson.

“Jackson is such an asshole” I say to Stiles.

Stiles nods at me.

Jackson says something to Scott which makes Scott just stare at him blankly, then Jackson walks away towards some people from school.

“So what is Scott showing us?” I ask Stiles holding my backpack scrap.

“He thinks he got bitten by a wolf, he wants to show us the bite” Stiles says and we finally walk up to Scott, “Alright let’s see this thing”

Scott pulls up his shirt showing as the massive bandage covering his torso with some blood stained into it.

Stiles makes a face and goes to touch the bandage causing Scott to flinch, I just frown in disgust at the sight of one of my best friends being hurt. Scott pulls down his shirt and picks up his school bag.

“It was too dark to see, but I’m pretty sure it was a wolf” Scott says and we start walking towards the school hallways.

“A wolf bit you?” Stiles says, trying to act like he actually believes his best friend.

“That’s not possible Scott, sorry” I say walking beside Stiles looking at Scott sadly.

“Well I heard a wolf howling” Scott says trying to convince us.

“No you didn’t” Stiles says back to him.

Wolfs are never in this area anymore, from what I heard from my parents. The worst we will ever get here is a mountain lion but even that is a low chance of ever actually happening.

“What do you mean no I didn’t, you don’t know what I heard” Scott says.

Well that’s true.

Stiles was caught by his Sherriff of a father and I didn’t even go out with them that night to find the body.

Stiles laughs but then regains himself “Because California doesn’t have wolves, okay not like in 60 years”

We all stop and just look at each other.

“Really?” Scott and I ask surprise that Stiles actually knows how long they haven’t been here for.

“Yes really, there are no wolves in California” Stiles says totally annoyed now by Scott, and also at me for not sticking up for him.
