Yaro don't you want to see what our new commander is like? Not even a little peak?
It's harmless!

Of course I do but Tara! It isn't just harmless dummy besides we don't need to get in his bad graces or the commanders.
Let's just go back to the baracks

But aren't you curious! Yaro come—onn,
it wouldn't kill you to be a little more adventurous it's not every day we get a new commanding officer with such a scary look, I for one am excited.
Training all these years was so boring now we get to be even just a tiny bit closer—

To what? Going to war! Yeah Tara that's soooo much fun, I bet you want to die too for the sake of adventure.

"You don't have to be harsh you'know."
"I'm sorry, it all stresses me out, an I know your trying to be upbeat I'm sorry." He said.

"But llya will start wondering where the hell we are if we are gone too long." He added quietly.

"It's fine, go. but I'm gonna listen." She said.

"Christ sake Tara why do you have to be so difficult?"
But even so he stayed too.

"Apparently They call him Yakov the Charming in the northern theater."

Shhh I'm trying to listen.

Your going to get us caught. He whispered.

Inside the room the commander spared no time to get to his point.

"Second lieutenant Yakov
Do not mistake... I see what you are.
Stones thrown into an abyss make no sound
and a soul with no bottom is a unnatural vessel of hunger, empty, desolate.

However we are at war
there is no peace
but that of the dead
know others may tolerate your kind
here but the inhuman have no place among the living
I do not care if you survive
but if your mask slips while under my command I will see to it you are executed
as a traitor of the state and your body will be left to rot unburied.
Am I understood?

I took a drag of my cigarette looking down at my feet smoke trailing past my hands that rested on my thighs towards the dark wood floor as the exhale continued to rolling down my shins as I stood up. My eyes meeting his and a smile crossing my face.

"We seem to be at odds, know in my heart felt oblige, I have no greater ambition but that for the sake of my country, comrades and the future children, of our great republic army.  Perhaps one day you'll let me buy you a drink and we'll laugh, but until then I will take the utmost consideration and responsibility of the words you believe me to follow as my commanding officer and commit this moment to my memory so I may understand your perspective sir."

"Dismissed."

He said no more, I have a feeling though he did not care for my response. He knows wolves when he sees them?  Maybe my awnser was too right? Too fitting? Some people have a sense for this, a troubling instinct.
I'll clear my head for now, lack a agenda, play things as they come.
If he can't sense a motive from me, a plan from me
it will keep him in the dark, untill a rainy day
when opportunity begs its voice to be heard.
Next we meet, I won't give him what he wants to hear but offer up a narrative, ungeneric and messy and see if that leaves him undisturbed.

"Wait." He said

I moved towards the door.

Tara there coming! Yaro whispered.
Shit! She said,
The wood winced out as She looked at Yaro terrified.

"What was that? The commander Gregori peytra spoke.

"Nothing sir, my stomach." I laughed. "I apologize for such. Coming from the front line there isn't many rations and I figured they should save the meal
for someone else. I haven't been to the kitchen yet however I will wait till breakfast tomorrow sir."
