"I had to. Because if there was anyone I wanted to see get to the finish line, it would be you...even if it meant having to watch you die in the end."

"No no it's okay! If there's a TV somewhere, I could distract myself with that." She said, looking hopefully at Sang-woo, who sighed and stepped aside so she could enter.
"TV is right over there." He said as she headed for it. He looked at Seok-woo before guiding him to the guest room and shutting the door, leaving it open a little in case Hwa-Young needed anything. He crossed his arms, "alright, what do you want?" He bluntly asked Seok-woo, who took a seat in a chair next to the bed. He sighed.
"How can I go about this without angering you?" He asked innocently.
"Your very presence is angering me. Get to the point." Sang-woo replied, tapping his foot impatiently. Seok-woo just chuckled.
"Of course. How could I forget? Now then, getting to the point; you say everything is fine here and Gi-hun said the same thing. Yet...right after you say that, you're arguing again and...you hit him?" Seok-woo said and asked, catching Sang-woo's attention.
"What are you on about?" He asked, trying to keep his cool. Seok-woo smirked slightly.
"The guilt that just washed over your face says it all, Sang-woo. And I know this isn't the first time you've hurt him, either. Physically, yes. Emotionally? Oh no, buddy, you've done some damage. Little birdie told me you've always been a jealous prick. Guess it's gotten worse." He said, getting up from his seat and approaching Sang-woo, "I think it's a little more than that, though. I sense...possessiveness. God gives you a friend, a special one at that, and you mistake him for an object you can just...claim." He said, leaning down to Sang-woo's face. The person he really wanted to hit was Seok-woo. He raised his hand but Seok-woo grabbed his wrist. "Ah, am I the only one getting deja vu here?"
"You don't know anything. What did he tell you?" Sang-woo asked, swinging his other hand only for it to get caught as well. Seok-woo held both of his wrists.
"Everything. That's no lie, either, he trusts me. But I'll get to the actual point here; you're no good for him. And I think he knows that, too." Seok-woo said, whispering the last part. His smirk grew bigger, seeing that he managed to break Sang-woo even the slightest bit.
"This is all your fault. If you hadn't just kept away from him-" Sang-woo started, struggling to free his wrists.
"Had I kept my distance, he wouldn't know your true colors. He wouldn't know that you'd be willing to hurt him to get your way. But anyone would've been able to guess that by the way you played those games. All in all, I wouldn't be able to save him if I kept my distance."
"Get out." Sang-woo said through gritted teeth. Seok-woo chuckled before letting go of his hands and shrugging.
"Yes, sir. I've got things to do today to begin with. I'm glad we had this talk." He said before leaving the room and taking Hwa-Young with him.
Sang-woo buried his face in his hands before rushing to the bathroom and splashing water on his face to try and cool off. It was too damn early for that. He looked in the mirror and tried his best to digest what just happened. He didn't want Gi-hun to see him as a violent person, let alone an abuser.
'He told him about our past? He trusts him? Breathe, Sang-woo. Dammit....what the hell is this guy trying to do? I'm not good for him?' Sang-woo thought to himself. Everything started to make more sense now.
- SQUID GAME: GAME OVER -
Sang-woo looked up at the clock; Gi-hun would be home soon. Sang-woo sighed as he was still in the process of calming himself down. He heard a knock at the door again. He really tried to ignore it this time so he didn't end up hurting himself from the amount of anger building up. But now there was the possibility of it being Hwa-Young. Letting out a groan, he went and opened the door, immediately closing it after seeing Seok-woo standing there.
"Wait." He said, holding the door with his hand. Sang-woo was tired at this point and just stared at the other man, "I want to apologize; I was very rude earlier. May I come in? I brought food as a peace offering." He smiled and Sang-woo just stepped aside to let him in. He had some questions for him, anyway.
"Cut the buddy-buddy bullshit, what are you planning? Why are you so obsessed with Gi-hun and why are you trying to ruin us?" He asked.
"I thought you were a genius, Sang-woo. Isn't it obvious? I like him. Or maybe 'like' is too weak a word." Seok-woo replied, hearing footsteps and then keys rustling from outside the door, "Ah, I wish I could talk more but...I'm afraid our little chat ends here."
"What are you-" Sang-woo was cut off by the sight of Seok-woo holding up a fist to his face and sitting down on the floor, "you bastard-"
"Sang-woo...?" Gi-hun softly called to Sang-woo before dropping his keys. Seok-woo turned and looked up at Gi-hun with a hurt look on his face.
"Gi-hun. No, this isn't what it looks like!" Sang-woo reached his hand out to Gi-hun.
"Sang-woo, what have you done...?"
