It was hot the summer I first met him. It was about 90 degrees on that first day. I remember walking up to the shop after running my ass off trying to prepare for the upcoming season. I had ran out of water and needed more before continuing training. Stepping into the store the air conditioning practically slapped me in the face. I just needed to be in and out so I could keep going. I went straight for the cooler that the water was kept in. The even cooler air washed over me as I grabbed a water from inside. I could feel the sweat dripping down my neck.
Striding over to the cashier I realized how much shorter than me he was. He practically had to strain to look at me. I was tall for my age especially for a junior in high school.  I reached my dads height freshman year then surpassed him sophomore year then topped out at 6'5". The boy who stood in front of me was probably only about 5'4". Not surprising though since he looked omegan.
"That'll be 2.14" he said to me. His voice was like honey. His voice made a presence in the small store that I could never forget.
"Thank you" I said as I pushed three dollars at him. I looked him over again and noticed a name tag reading "BROOKS :)" on it. Cute I thought. He passed back my change and I could see him do the same thing I just did. He looked me up and down then I turned to leave and I thought that was it. Boy how wrong I could be.
