She was lying sick on the bed. The room was dark. I knew that she wouldn't be here for much longer. I sat down by her side. I kissed her hand which was covered in veins. Her whole body was frail, the sickness was taking its toll. I couldn't bear it. I crumpled and started crying. I couldn't hold it in. I knew she wasn't meant to be mine. I can't do anything, i told myself. I held her close. I lifted her in my arms and went down the stairs. I opened the door and went out, still holding her and kissing her. I don't want to let go, i told her. I love you. I love you. I love you. My arms were hurting. My whole body was aching. But it was nothing as compared to the pain in my heart. She could never be mine. It started raining. "Where are we going?", she asked. I remained quiet. I covered her with my jacket and kept walking. My heart kept screaming. I asked her to close her eyes. We walked over the hill. We sat beside the river, flowing with energy, flowing with zest and passion. I asked her to open her eyes. Her eyes grew wide with surprise. She looked at me and then looked in front of her and back at me. She reached over and kissed me. "Thank you", she said. I started crying and buried myself in her arms. I looked around me. The field was a hue of purple. Full of lavenders. Purple shades of love. The smell coming from the plants penetrated my heart and my soul. I got up and got some lavenders. I came back and put some in her hair. I gave some to her to hold on to. She smelled them and smiled at me. It filled my heart with happiness and dread. I looked at her and kissed her again. "I love you so much". I kissed her again and again as the rain kept falling.
