Long Summer Rain

Prologue - Introduction

Bastet's POV

It was the 25th of June, I was on my train ride home with rain pouring down on the windows, my caramel face leaning on the glass accompanied with my eyes staring off at a city, funny it's only been 2 years since I've been away from Domino City, and it already feels like a millennia, I wonder how the gang are, I mean I do get messages from them, but it's not the same as meeting face to face. Yugi probably grew taller. . . Nah doubt it, Anzu should be a professional dancer by now, Hopefully Ryou didn't change, not expecting much from Jounouchi and Honda... Everything should be normal at least. Whilst in thought I get a text message from Yugi.

Yugi - 11:27am

- Heyy! Bastyy

- You nearly here yet? Jounouchi and Honda are already attempting to eat your gift

Bastet - 11:28am

- Well I can't magically make the train go faster! but yes I am nearly there, about a few minutes at least

Yugi - 11:28am

- Okay! can't wait to see you again!

I smiled at my phone and put it in my pocket, in the distance I see Domino City Station, sitting myself up and grabbing my luggage and waiting at the doors for them to soon open. After a few moments, the train stopped the doors opened shining a bright light in my face, reminded me of the Atem's departure a little, the way he walked through the passage of the afterlife keeps stabbing my heart every time I think about him, he was a good friend. but now it's time to move on, no more dwelling on the past, no more magical card games, just a normal life. Not wasting a second more I walk towards the doors, getting off the train. Just as I hoped off I heard a screech that made me cringe, like hearing nails on a chalk board, "BASTET!" I turn to where the sound came from, only to meet face to face with Anzu which made me jump, "A-Anzu?! You scared me!?" I said as she just giggles.
She grabbed my hand and took me to the old gang, Yugi was there, so was Jounouchi and Honda, Ryou and Ryuji were also there, it felt like old times again, "Bastet!" Ryuji says running to me hugging me, as if on queue, once he stopped hugging me Jounouchi took a running start and threw himself towards us, but thankfully he missed- was not having a bruise on my head today. "Jounouchi!? You okay!?" Yugi yelped as Jounouchi put a thumbs up rubbing his forehead, "Yeah I'm all good! Bastet! How could you move away!?" He said smiling "I think you know the answer to that," I said helping him up. He looked me up and down and said "did you shrink?". . . "Pardon." I said wanting him to repeat himself- "did you shrin- OW!" He yelled as I punched his face.
Ryuji and Honda laughed as Yugi and Ryou were checking to see if he still had a braincell left and Anzu was scolding him. I couldn't help but cry, but not because I hit jounouchi, but because I missed these moments, luckily these were happy tears, and not real tears or else I'd be crying for hours.

Varon's POV

It was currently 12pm and I was so very bored, I already finished my work and I couldn't go anywhere in this weather... Why the hell did I choose Domino City for my next visit, honestly Varon. . . "Fuck it." I said to myself, grabbing my motorbike and going outside, maybe a drive in the rain will keep my busy.

After a few minutes of driving, I begin to admire Domino City in the rain, the night lights where on, giving the buildings some sort of vibe to them, and not many people were out which I can't imagine why there should be, but there was a group of people, getting soaked, well only one getting soaked in the rain, she had dark blue hair and tan skin, couldn't see her features well but she was the only one in the rain while her friends were undercover, she looked very familiar. . . That's when I saw him, Jounouchi. Meaning that, my thoughts stopped as the light turned green, with no hesitation I drive off.
It's been 4 years, 4 fucking years. Why was I so scared that they'd notice me, why did I drive off like a mad man, would they have cared if they knew it was me? I groan as my thoughts just run through my mind, I should apologize, no. That just be awkward, but yet again I did harm them, and... Argh! Just don't even bother thinking about it..... I see the beauty herself has gotten even more beautiful- God damn it me!
