Rona proceeds on opening the door for Suryeon and letting her in while the redhead followed suit. Yoonhee awkwardly looked at the father and daughter before she finally let herself in and close the door.
Rona left the two woman in the living room while she prepares the cake that the brunette bought for them in the kitchen.
"I should've clean the house more. I'm sorry, it's a mess."
"That's fine."
They sat across each other awkwardly. The two doesn't know how to act around each other when their children is in close proximity.
"So... What happened back there?" The older woman asked.
"We don't actually know what happened. We just arrived here and saw Eunbyeol crying in front of Rona. We thought they were fighting, but it turns out that they made up." Suryeon nodded at this.
She noticed the word 'we' and how it implied that the doctor and the redhead was together prior to the event earlier. She wanted to ask, but she was afraid of how petty she'll sound.
"That was actually a beautiful scene. You guys looked like a family." She commented, rather bitterly. She didn't want to, but her insecurity got the best of her.
The redhead sighed. Pain was evident from her eyes. Suryeon doesn't know how her heart ached everytime she suggests this to her. Yoonhee was about to speak when Rona came back with their food.
Suryeon sighed as she stopped at the redhead's front door. Maybe she shouldn't have said that back then. Come to think of it, she never had the chance to apologize to her for what she said.
She shook her head to push those thoughts away. She knocked a few times but no one responded. She tried to open the door and was surprised how it was unlocked.
After everything that happened and her constant reminder of how anything bad might happen to them, the redhead developed a habit of being over the top when it comes to security. She even suggested installing multiple locks at the penthouse. She smiled at the memory.
She let herself in. She heard someone crying and it sounded like Rona. She saw that the door to Yoonhee's room was ajar. She took a peek and saw Rona crying in Eunbyeol's arms. Her eyes travel to the redhead who was lying on the bed and having trouble breathing. Dr. Ha was beside the bed, instructing her to breath in and out slowly. Her mind wandered to dark places. The brunette's heart started beating fast. Fear crept over her. She felt chills all over her body as she stood frozen in front of the scene happening before her.
It's as if a bucket of water was splashed on her, she came back to her senses. She barged into the room, not caring about how shocked Rona, Eunbyeol and Yoonchul was to see her. She took her position on the other side of the bed and grabbed Yoonhee's hand. The redhead's eyes travelled from Yoonchul to Suryeon. Her panick attack was just beginning to subside but she felt the need to reassure the brunette who looked so distraught at her side.
"I'm okay..." The redhead said weakly.
The brunette nodded, trying hard not to show how scared she was of Yoonhee's current state. She's afraid she'll contribute to the redhead's discomfort.
"Yoonhee, you should sleep." Yoonchul advised as he stood up. He felt like he was intruding them.
"I'll take care of the kids." He continued.
Yoonhee looked up at him, her eyes were full of doubt and his heart broke seeing how she still can't trust him. The redhead nodded eventually. It's not like she has a choice.
