~NIALL'S POV~

Two whole hours had passed since I had last talked to Abby. I tried calling her about fifteen minutes ago, but she didn't answer. I sighed and continued to flip through channels on the TV. I didn't know how I could stand another two days without seeing Abby's beautiful face. I thought of what Liam said again. I swear, I just love her as a friend...don't I?

As I was thinking about Abs, I heard my phone ring. I looked around but couldn't find it. As I was searching, I hit my head on the shelf above. "Ugh, damnit!" Finally, I had found my phone. I answered without even bothering to look at the caller ID. "Hello?"

"Um...hi?" I froze. Was it really her? "Nialler? Aw, come on now Niall, don't play this game with me."

"S-sorry," I stammered. "Hey Abs."

"Finally, you answer! I saw you requested my voice a few minutes ago. Why, may I ask?"

"Well," I said slowly, still trying to comrehend the fact I was on the phone with Abby. "I got bored and lonely."

She laughed. The sound of it filled my stomach with butterflies. "How do you get bored with four other loud and obnoxious teenage boy bunking with you?"

"Technically, Lou isn't a teenager anymore."

"But," she argued. "didn't you say that he is the most immature of you all?"

"I'm not sure anymore," I answered truthfully. "Harry is pretty close. He's the youngest, so that may have something to do with it. However, he used to be mature for his age. But then he met Louis. And plus, Harry likes to, erm, 'be free'."

"Be...free?" she asked, obviously puzzled. I still haven't explained to her about Harry's infatuation with going naked. I'm sure she's heard about it somewhere, but you can never tell between truth and fiction when it comes to fame. Fans make up the craziest things.

"It's easier to show you than explain over the phone, but if you see you will be mentally scarred...forever." I paused before forever for a dramatic effect. Apparently, it worked, because once again, her musical laugh filled my ear and made my heart swell. Wait, is Liam...right?

"Niall...Nialler...NIALL JAMES HORAN!" she yelled.

"What!"

"What just happened? You got very quiet, Mr. Horan."

"Oh," I said, still a little startled from her yell. "I was thinking."

"About?" she asked curiously.

"Things."

"Like?"

"Abs, you aren't going to manage to get this one out of me. Try as you might, it won't work." I laughed evilly.

"Try I will!" she declared. "I will win, you know why?"

"Why?" I asked.

"Because," she stated. "I am smarter, faster, awesomer, and let's face it, I'm damn sexy." I laughed, remember that episode of "Sping the Harry" in which Lou had called Liam "damn sexy". And although many fans know about that exchange, none of them realize that Harry was actually quite jealous afterwards. I believe he was just showing off, but it was still quite funny. Louis then had to come and comfort him by singing and storking his curls. That was a bit weird...

"Sure you are, Abs," I smiled and she laughed along with me. "I can't wait to see you again, Abby."

She sighed. "I kow Niall, I know. I feel the same way." I could tell she was sad. My smile faded at the thought of it.

"I'll tell you what," I proclaimed. "As soon as I get home, I am taking you out to eat at a restaurant of your coice, we'll go to the park and play our music, and then we'll go back to your flat and have a film marathon. How does that sound?"

"That sounds...phenominiall." I could practically hear the smile in her voice. "You'd really do that for me?"

"I swear to it," I said. And I meant it too. I couldn't wait to get back home, to get back to her.

"You're absolutely amazing, Nialler," she said. I could feel the heat rise in my cheeks as I blushed. Woah, I'm blushing over her?

"Whatever," I teased.

"You are," she insisted. There was a garbled noise in the background. She sighed heavily. "So much for my extended break. I have to go."

"Oh," I whispered.

"Love you, Niall," she said quietly. "And I will forever. I swear to it."

"Love you more, Abs. I promise that'll never change." Then the line went dead. I felt empty now. An eerie silence feel on the room. I looked at my background once more. I can only remember one other time I have ever felt this way. The memory of the last day I saw her came flooding back.

The airport was really crowded and loud. I gripped Abby's hand as I led us over to Liam. He smiled at me, then raised his eyebrows once he saw Abby and I's interlocked fingers. He nodded to Abby. "Hi, I'm Liam. Niall's best mate."

Abby giggled and shook her head. "No, I believe that I, Abigail Marie Larson, am Niall's true best mate. Seeing as I have known him for about eleven years."

"Wait," Liam seemed surprised. "You're Abby? The girl Niall won't shut up about?"

I glared at him then stared down at my feet. Out of the corner of my eye, I could see Abby blushing a bit. We continued to chat for a while and it turned out that Abby and Liam had quite a few things in common. Suddenly, a voice came on the loudspeaker above us. "Now boarding flight 326, now boarding flight 326. Thank you."

"That's us, Ni. Nice meeting you Abby. Hopefully we'll meet again soon." She returned the farewell, and Liam grabbed his bags and left me to say goodbye to her.

"I can't believe I have to leave you again," I said a little shakily. I could see the tears brimming in her eyes.

"Me neither. I miss you so much when you're away from me, Nialler." Her voiced cracked as she said my name. I pulled her into a huge bear hug, not caring who saw. She was sobbing into my chest as I rested my head on hers. I felt the tears I had been fighting back spill over. So there we stood. In an airport, in each other's arms, crying because we had to be apart from one another.

I don't know how long we stood like that, our arms wrapped tightly around the other's waist, but the voice above us returned, bringing us back to reality. "Last call for flight 326, last call for flight 326."

"I have to leave now, Abs," I murmured into her hair.

"No," she pleaded. "Stay."

"I love you, Abigail," I whispered, kissing the top of her head.

"I love you more, Niall," she croaked as she squeezed me tighter. I let go of her and began to walk away with my luggage. I turned around one last time, only to see her pretty face covered in more tears. I felt a few of my own slip down my cheeks as I smiled at her. She smiled a small smile back and waved. I turned around, gave the lady at the desk my ticket, and boarded the plane.

I cried silently the entire time I was on that plane.

Just like I was doing now.
