Cameron.

New semester, new playlist.

I turn my music volume up, Merry Go Round of Life tickling my brain through my earphones, and shove my way through a group of huge guys blocking the whole damn hallway. They bump into one another and all look down at me as if wondering how such a tiny guy could move such hulking chunks of muscle. Well the answer is simple, their heads are too big for their bodies so their balance is abit off.

As I pass through, I glance up and my eyes immediately lock with those of Nico Tate, resident dreamboat and jock. I look away, unimpressed. Honestly I will never understand what about him has all the girls, gays and theys lining up to get their hearts broken... he's the biggest asshole around but has everyone fooled with his fake little nice boy act. Honestly, they act like the sun shines out his ass.

I trudge into my last and favorite class ,which is art, and dump my sketchbook on my desk. Mr. Carson looks up from the painting he's examining and smiles at me. I return the gesture and almost shit myself when something warm and hairy slams into me. I brace my ass against my desk as Caroline hugs the soul out of me.

When she finally releases her death grip its only to hold me at arms length and shake me like a rag doll.

"You didn't show at lunch, I thought you were burning down the science lab again."

I groan and slide into my seat, my best friend sliding into the one beside me, "It was one time and it was an accident."

She holds her hand out to me and I toss her the hair-tie I keep on my wrist. She doesn't reply for the next few minutes and she struggles to get her mane of golden-brown hair into a ponytail. I watch in awe, eyes shooting up when the door swings open and in comes...drum roll please...Nico Tate and his babbling, bumbling band of baboons... well just three of them anyways but the name still applies, McGonagall eat your heart out.

Caroline immediately sits up straighter, eyes scanning for Ezra Miller. He comes in last and settles in the back of the room with his friends. I take a second to glare at them when the strangest thing happens. Nico leans forward, right into my line of sight... and smiles at me.

I roll my eyes and look away, but not before Caroline catches the exchange.

"Pssstttttt, Cameron. Am I tripping or did Nico bloody Tate just give you the googlie eyes?"

I keep my eyes forward as Mr. Carson gives us our new assignments and whisper under my breath, "You're tripping sweetie."

"Bastard."

I smile and open my sketchbook to a fresh page and start taking notes in the corner, but for the rest of the class I can't shake the feeling that someone is watching me.

~~~
There's a car I don't recognize in the drive when I skate home in the afternoon. I trudge through the front door, skateboard under my arm and yelling my presence to the house when my little sister sticks her head out of the kitchen doorway, mouth full, and waves her greeting. I wave back and her head vanishes again. Judging from the number of voices that can probably be heard from the neighbor's house, she has friends over. I dump my backpack and skateboard on the floor before making my way into the kitchen.
"Lulu whose car is parked out fro-"
The words die in my mouth as I take in the sight that greats me. Sitting at my counter, eating ice cream out of a cup and chatting with a group of twelve year old's is... you fucking guessed it, Nico Tate.
Five pairs of eyes are on me but my eyes are staring at one person and one person only.
"You?"
"Me," he replies, looking not at all surprised to see me.
"Why?" Wow really Cameron? Straight A student and this is the best you can do?
"My sister and her friends needed a ride."
He shrugs and returns to his ice cream, and I take note of the very important discussion the girls are having about the Teen Wolf movie that's apparently in the making, and I temporarily forget about the jerk in my kitchen as I grab a snack and settle into the stool beside his to listen in.
It's about ten minutes into our debate about whether it would be worth watching if Dylan isn't in it when I see him staring at me from the corner of my eye.
I ignore him and he eventually looks away.
Lulu sighs, exasperated by my lack of interest in the show unless Dylan plays my dear, sweet Stiles and says, "You're only saying that because you've had a crush on him since the first episode you watched."
The kitchen falls silent for a few seconds before I'm assaulted with a bunch of 'oohs' and 'ahhs' from the girls. I roll my eyes, laughing a little when I feel a warm body lean into my side and Nico's deep voice whispers, "You swing for a different team but ya still play ball, don't ya Cam."
"You're a horrible person."
"I know. It keeps me awake at night."
A/N: Hey guys, thanks for taking time to read my book. I hope I'm brave enough to leave this story up. I've had other accounts where I posted but always deleted after a few days because I'm not too confident about my writing yet so I made this new account because my friends knew about my last one and well, I just wanna be completely anonymous... it gives me the courage to be bold. Maybe one day that'll change, but not yet.
Anyways, please feel free to correct any grammatical errors and leave constructive criticism in the comments.
