Hiding was the only way I learned to survive. I never liked being alone but time had taught me that you are always alone. It's been years since I been alone so long that I forgotten my own age. Days blend in with each others. For me time blends in with itself. I don't remember much from the day before. I never cared before and I never wanted to.
Rolling in the bed of leaves, I scan my surroundings and seen nothing but trees and grass. Lifting onto all four legs I stretched my body getting the stiffness out my spine and blood through my body. Then I raced into the trees when I am done. I love the feeling of running. I feel as though I am free and undefined. Even though I am one of the smallest wolves in the world. Throughout my time in the woods I have seen a small amount of wolves but they were various in size and skills. They was all at least thrice my size and ran twice as fast. They was enthralling but they too were lone wolves and prefer to stay that way. I leap up onto a fall tree trunk. Peering into the distance I seen a clearing with a deer in it. I leaped down and stalked my way onto the outside of the clearing. I seen something move on the opposite side. I didn't want to lose my prey to anyone else so I started to crawl. I went about a foot closer when I realized why the deer hasn't ran yet. There was a fawn lying onto the floor. I am not merciful, but if I can spare that baby a little heartbreak I will. I looked up and over the deer and seen a bobcat running at its full speed so I took off. If I wasn't going to kill them I. Sure not letting something else kill them it would've been pointless.
The bobcat hat a six foot advantage over me but I cleared the field in half the time it could. It was close, the bobcat jaws was only inches from the mother's throat before I intervened. Leaping and diving over them both I twisted my body mid-air latching onto the felines scruff and pulled it away. I flung the bobcat away from them and stood in between them.
What the hell do you think your doing.
Animals have never needed dialect because if you was like me, a shifter or a were you could telepathically speak to one another. But that doesn't mean I have to respond.
Are you not going to answer me.
I stood there bracing my self for an attack. I said nothing just stares at the feline. I can tell it was a female the what it stands and the level of vocal in my ear. Female felines have a louder tone than males. And it's because of some agreement that if the men can rule then the females will have complete control over the next generation. So they gotten a louder command pitch.
The feline growls at me. Where is your pact wolfy.
Again I just stares waiting for the slightest movement towards me.
Fine if you won't talk then I guess my big brother can make you. And he going to be a king so you don't have no skill that can beat him. She looks up and roar with a trembling force.
I heard them, every last one of them. Bobcats was a alike with the lions. They traveled in groups called clowder. Normally the female would do the hunting. but if they don't deem the area safe then they would allow the males to tag along. If there is ever a cry for help, then that is bad. I paid it no mind if I shown I was afraid then they would use that as a taunting method. I turned to the meek animals behind me and growled venomously. The mother picked up her baby and dashed into the woods. I turned back forward to seen them all staring at me.
The biggest stepped up to introduce himself. I am Lenos the third, and i am the future leader of my clowder.
He steps closer and I growls. I didn't want to do it but if they charge I might have to.
He tilts his head to his sister I can tell she wasn't saying anything nice. When he refocused his gaze unto me I can see his power rolling over his body. He bares his fangs and extracted his claws until they were digging into the ground. His body twitched a second before he leaped at me and that was all the time I needed. It looked like he was moving slower so I rolled under him and leaped onto his back. I tried for a quick kill but he flung me off of his body. I can hear the other Bobcats laughing. Lenos looks at me with feral eyes and charged at me. I lift my paw up and slammed it down on his nose making him fall and whimper. The rest of his clowder raced at me. Before they reached me I let go my aura of dominance. Every last one of them fell down until their nose was inside the dirt. Growling and standing above them all. I was shocked I didn't expect them to bow and even be weakened. I looked around and seen even the leader was bowing. I snapped at them.
