Chapter 1 - First Day

MARY POV

"Honey don't forget your lunch!" My mom yelled at me from the bottom of the stairs.

"I won't Umma! Don't worry about me!" I yelled back to her.

Today is my first day at a new school. I used to live in Busan with my father but he was moved to Seoul because of his business. I looked at the clock and noticed that I only had twenty minutes to get to school.

I quickly ran out of my room and almost slipped on the steps. My mom caught me before I completely face planted on the stairs. She then kissed my cheek and gave me my lunch. Then I was out on my way.

I half way to school and I felt so uncomfortable. In my old school we didn't have to wear uniforms but in this school it was mandatory. I didn't want to look like the others so instead of above the knee socks, I wore socks just right below the knee. I knew it wasn't a big difference but it helped me feel better about myself.

"Aye you!" I heard another girl say. I turned to her and she was wearing the same uniform as me.

"Hello!" I waved to her while trying to be as charismatic as possible.

"Are you the new girl?!" She questioned me.

"Well yes I am" I replied to her.

Just then she ran to me which gave me an opportunity to look at her clearly. She had a blonde ponytail and glasses. She wore heavy makeup and had a Death Note backpack. She was wearing the same uniform as me except she was wearing fishnets with them instead. It wasn't very fashionable but at least she likes it.

"My name is Neena What's yours?" She said to me.

"I'm Mary and you have a beautiful name." I said as I smiled at her.

"Thanks! I was actually named after the Marvel character, Domino. Yeah my parents are super into that stuff. I even have a little brother named Wade haha. " she laughed but I didn't really understand her humor.

"Well um could you show me around the school when we get there?" I asked as I tried to change the subject.

"Yeah sure" she said.

When we arrived at the school everyone looked at me and greeted me. Neena showed me around and took me to my first class.

"Here's biology. If you need me I'll be in advanced chemistry. Bye Mary." She said.

I looked around for an empty seat and there was only one by a cute boy. I sat and he winked at me causing me to blush. He kept looking at me but it was soon interrupted by the professor walking in.

During the whole class period this boy kept looking at me and sucking his lips. At first it was cute but now I just felt weird. I'd have to ask Neena who this boy was during lunch.

After 3 more classes it was time for lunch. Me and Neena rushed to get our food and we sat down.

"So? Any questions about anyone yet?" She asked while smirking at me.

"Yeah actually. Who is that?" I said as I pointed to the mysterious boy.

"Oh that's Yugyeom. He's really sweet. You've got good taste." She told me.

"I don't like him. He just stared at me my whole class period and I found it strange." I said as I picked at my food.

"Uh weird." She replied.

Just then we noticed him get up and start walking towards us. He was getting closer and closer. Then I realized he was walking to me. I started to sweat and panic in my mind. What if he's knows we were talking about him?! What if he's gonna stare at me more?! I kept thinking to myself. He got closer to me and started whispering in my ear.

"You really shouldn't be talking about others." He said and then he chuckled in my ear.

He started walking away when he flipped me off. Neena was just sitting there dumbfounded but then she started ranting.

"I can't believe he did that! Do you want me to yell at him?" She asked in an angry voice.

I just shook my head no. I didn't know how I felt. I wanted to punch him but kiss him at the same time. What was going through my mind?
