Back Hug

"I cannot take this anymore. I really can't. Have you ever thought about what is going on in my life? Have you ever thought of how I am managing things by myself? I am seriously regretting every choices I made back then. I took it as my own fault. But is it my own fault? Or yours too? Have you ever felt guilty?" I spoke out without even thinking the consequences.

Taehyun was there, standing far from me, with his rigid face and emotionless eyes. There was no sign of guilt nor anger. I felt miserable of how he was staring at me, without even blinking. He spoke out, with signs of tear in his eyes, "I do know everything. Why do you always take the mistakes on you? Why do you not care about yourself when you know you'll be regretting your choices? Why do you not know that I am... I am trying my best to make it up to you but you're not giving me that one chance that I need to fix things."

Silence. There was only silence. I felt lifeless. Everything slowed down. I only remember falling down on the floor, breaking the glasses on the table, and Taehyun running towards me.

Author's POV: Y/N and Taehyun were the best of friends in high school. But their friendship grew into love. Taehyun proposed Y/N on the last day of high school, and Y/N accepted him, delighted. College started, you both didn't have the same major so you both chose to go to your dream colleges. But yet you both lived together in a rented place. You both promised each other that both will have time for each other no matter what. Days passed, you both lost track of time. You both forgot the promise you made to each other. Feeling guilty, you both decided to go on a date.

ON THE DAY OF THE DATE.

Y/N's POV: I am so excited gosh! I can't wait to meet him today. Let me see what I should wear. I picked out, changed them numerous times and finally chose to wear what Taehyun gave me on our first date. Thinking about the days, made me blush instantly. I looked at the clock and found out that I was running late. I hurried out of the house and went to our regular coffee shop. Taehyun still didn't arrive. No problem, I'll wait for him....
Minutes passed, hours passed, Taehyun still didn't show up. It's okay, I think he's really busy, I thought to myself. It was soon time for the coffee shop to be closed and it started pouring out of nowhere. I started walking, drenched under the cold rain. I don't know what I'm feeling. Taehyun would never keep me waiting. I walked towards home, worried about him.

As soon as I reached home, the lights were out. "I remember I kept the lights on. Ahh it's raining so it may be a power cut. All had to happen today." I sighed and entered the living room.

The bedroom door was open. Something is not right, it struck me. I slowly walked towards the bedroom and heard soft giggling. It was not Taehyun's but a girl's!? I swung the door open and found Taehyun in a drunken state on the bed and a girl sitting beside him and gently stroking his body!

The sight made me lose it completely. "Who are you? What are you doing here and why are you both on the same bed?" I asked, in a stern yet calm voice.

Taehyun woke up, sat up on the bed and he himself was shocked by seeing the girl next to him. He jumped out of the bed and asked her who she was. The girl said, "Hey we were just fine moments ago. What happened to you now? You drunk so much that I had to take you here. How could I leave such a man at the bar alone!?" She smirked.

Taehyun couldn't speak. I demanded an answer from him but he remained silent. I tried to look at the bright side and thought if thinking the incident as a misunderstanding but I couldn't. I just couldn't.

I felt betrayed. I knew Taehyun would never do this to me. I tried to believe him to my most limit but he broke my trust and brought another girl home. I was furious. I stormed out of the room. Taehyun came after me and pulled me saying, "Y/N please give me a chance to explain. I did not mean all this. All this is an accident. Y/N please come to your senses. It's not what you think."

I broke free from his grasp and yelled out to him whatever came to my mind.

(The situation mentioned in the beginning of the story happens just after this)

"Breathe, breathe you have to breathe Y/N please."
Someone constantly repeated these words. I couldn't make out what was going on. There was a strange pain in my chest, I wanted to see Taehyun so badly, I wanted to cry, I wanted to shout but I couldn't. I felt helpless. I closed my eyes once again.

The incident occured to me always. The sight that made me go reckless. I woke up. I was under a strong light and thus couldn't see properly. I tried to sit up but there was absolutely no strength left in me. I called out with my shaky voice for help. A nurse entered the room and asked, "Miss are you feeling btter now? How are yiu feeling right now? Would you like to eat something?" I was loaded with a lot of questions. In return I asked why I was here. She sighed and said, "It has been 8 day you are here in this hospital unconscious. A boy, I think he's your boyfriend but I don't know, came every now and then to check upon you. He always said that he's sorry. He wished you to open your eyes but you didn't. One afternoon you were having trouble breathing and your breathing rate was decreasing. The doctors tried their best to handle the situation but still your breathing decreased. The boy came running into the room, grasped your hands tight and started saying
Y/N please breathe, start breathing please. Your breathing slowly increased and you were breathing normally. The sight made me understand that he loves and longs for you." The nurse smiled.

I gave her a dry smile and said, "Thank you for taking care of me for so many days. I really am greatful to you. When will I be discharged?"
"Yes you will be discharged soon. You need to do the paper works as well." The nurse said.
"What about the billings and payment?" I asked.
"Ah the boy has done all. Don't worry, think of recovering." She said and left.

Taehyun didn't come to the hospital on the day of my return. I didn't think about that anyways but I was more in trouble because I missed two of my semester exams. I'm doomed. I thought to myself.

Now I'm standing in front of the main door. I didn't want to enter. All those memories came flashing back to me. I gathered myself and entered through the gate. The rooms were a mess. I don't even know what was Taehyun doing all these days. I went to the bedroom. The bedroom with all those dreadful experiences. I sat down on the bed and started unpacking. I freshened up and started cleaning the house. The day faded to eve. It was raining hard knce again. There was still no sign of Taehyun. Whatever.

I was feeling hungry. I came down to the kitchen and was looking here and there for something to eat and voila I found a cup of ramen. As I was opening the lid of the cup, something cold hugged me from the back. I didn't move. The scent of rain covered me.
It was Taehyun back hugging me. He was shuddering and held me tight. I gently put my hand on his and said, "What took you so long to come back? Do you not care for me anymore? Do you -"

"No, no, no it's all my fault Y/N I'm so sorry. I'm really sorry Y/N, I will explain each and everything to you. Please trust me Y/N, don't leave me please." Taehyun bursted out in tears and babbled.

"I'm sorry too. I should have understood the situation. It's nit your fault. Take it easy and I'm not leaving you. Please don't be sorry. It's my fault to." I said, while comforting him with words.

I broke the hug and turned to him. He was still in tears and shuddering. I spoke up, "Calm down okay? I'm fine now. Stop crying please." I tried to be as soft as possible. He hugged me once again and said, "You fainted and fell so hard on the floor, the broken pieces of glass pierced all over your body. I came running towards you to hold you but I missed. Blood came out running, and there was I, scared of doing anything. I picked you up and ran to the nearest hospital. Doctors told me keep my fingers crossed because your concussion was not a minor one. Y/N I didn't know what to do, I thought I lost you completely. Y/N I'm so sorry. I promise you, I'll always protect you whenever you need me the most. I...I will never -" I didn't let him speak anymore as I kissed him. He kissed me back. Then I said, "Taehyun, it must've been hard for you right? Don't worry, I'm here with you. Whatever happens we'll face it together."

Taehyun smiled. His smile warmed my heart instantly. He hugged me once again and I hugged him back.

EXTRA: Taehyun had his batch's party that day and got caught up by his friends. He tried his best to come out of the party but couldn't. He ended uo being so drunk, he could barely walk. One of his friend's sister took him back home and was helping him to be comfortable. Then Y/N enters and faces the reality. It was all a misunderstanding.
