The cool breeze of the Autumn season blew through the dark hair belonging to Y/n. They were walking through a forest, it was a lovely day outside so why would they pass up the opportunity? Though, even if it was a nice day, Y/n couldn't help but feel as if there was something watching them. A shiver ran down Y/n's spine, their hands clasped together, as if they were comforting themselves, and continued to walk along the path. There were no signs in this part of the forest, it was so far away from the neighborhood as well, it made every hair stand on the back on Y/n's neck.
A stick snapped behind them, Y/n clutched onto their bag, fear in their eyes. They looked up to see a grey furred creature, staring right down into their eyes. Y/n backed away, one step, two steps, three, and accidentally bumped into a tree. "Wh..who are you? Go away!" they covered their face with an arm which caused a head tilt from the grey haired beast. It walked up to them, smiling lightly then "Nothing to be afraid of... I'm Chip, I live a block down from where you do in the neighborhood nearby." he followed up with "I thought I'd stop you from going any farther into the forest.. its dangerous down here you know." Chips ears pinned back a bit, the though of Y/n being so scared of him made his heart ache.
Y/n let out a sigh of relief and nervous giggles escaped them "Oh! I'm so sorry.. I just.." They studied the other once their arm came back down to rest at their side. Chip didn't look like a bad guy what so ever, he actually looked quite sweet, despite the sharp teeth and claws. "I assumed that there was a werebeast out here.. I'm glad I was wrong. Thank you though, Chip was it?" Chip nodded and his smile returned "Yep that's me.. and you're Y/n, I've had some friends talk about you before." Y/n laughed and looked to the side "All good things I hope.." Chips tail began to wag and he leaned back, giving the much shorter human space. "Well, we should be heading back now. I'll have to inform someone to put up signs through here so we can avoid this next time." Y/n nodded in agreement, grabbing onto Chips much bigger paw and smiling up at him "Well then, lead the way, I actually forgot which was was back.." they chuckled in embarrassment. Chips face tinted a light pink shade "Oh.. a-ahem- alright then.."
Once Y/n and Chip made it back to the neighborhood they broke the bond between their hands. Chip cleared his throat "So.." Y/n glanced up to Chip with a slight smile. "Would you want to walk with me to the Cafe?" Chips eyes widened, confused and flustered "Me?- I mean sure but.. why?" Y/n simply shrugged at the question "Well, I suppose I just feel safe with you around.. despite thinking you were going to kill me back there. You're a rather nice wolf if I've ever met one.." they hummed. One of Chips ears twitched at the compliment "Uh-m.. thank you??" he was still caught off guard by the situation.
Chip didn't mind one bit on how this was playing out. He especially wasn't complaining about it either. Y/n chuckled "You act really nervous. Whys that?" The taller looked away "Well- its just.. I'm not used to this sort of thing? I guess.." The shorter nodded, understanding the best they could. "But Y/n.. I would really love to get to know you better.." Y/n's heart fluttered at that. Chips voice was so calming, how could they say no?
