Aiko was practically ecstatic, she couldn't refrain herself from slightly bouncing on her heels as she awaited Nanami's reasoning for this surprise visit. She rarely got to see her favourite "sensei" since he left the world of exorcising curses for a mundane one.
She hurriedly attempted to partially clean all the junk residing upon her bedside drawers that consisted of empty water bottles and cigarette butts from Nanami's judgemental eyes.
Not that it mattered, he knew all about her "stress reliever" since Shoko caught her one time in the courtyard and mentioned it on their monthly calls.
Aiko leant against the wore down mahogany dresser, she averted her eyes when she said, "Do you have any idea why Fushiguro hasn't came over yet?, I kinda broke my phone last week so I cant call him."
"I ran into him on the way over here, so I told him to go with the other students instead because I was taking you for something to eat."
"Ah that explains then" Aiko muttered out. She was partially downtrodden she wouldn't be seeing Megumi just yet, but on the upside Nanami will be paying for her lunch.
Nanami grabbed his car keys from his blazer pocket and twirled them around his finger, when he rose up from the seat he said, "Come on lets have a bite to eat, Im thinking a cafe today."
"Of course, I assume your order will be something along the lines of being bread based if I'm right?."
"Obviously, now come on, they make a fresh batch at dinner time and Im famished" Nanami groaned out, his stomach rumbled from not having any food previously when he started towards the door.
"Honestly Sensei you really need loosen up with the bread addiction" Aiko chuckled following Nanami out of her dorm room towards the warm rays of golden sunlight. ___________________________________

After Nanami decided to treat Aiko to a new phone, they both had been seated at a small squared table inside the rustic styled café for the past hour, enjoying a selection of of baked treats and chatting mindlessly over things like Aiko's school life and Nanami's work life.
"I can't believe you would take another woman out on a date after you just had one with me... you womaniser!!"
"Aiko firstly this is not a date and never will be, secondly you can can give me that phone back if you don't stop right now and thirdly she is just repaying back a favour. It WONT be a date. I haven't got time for all that stuff even IF I wanted to." Nanami interrupted instantly.
'"Aww fine...but just so you know she best not hurt your feelings sensei, because Ill have to track her down and return the favour" Aiko cheered whilst punching her palm.
The broad toothy smile she had plastered across her face hugely contradicted the dark aura surrounding her.
The corner of Nanami's lip quipped up slightly when he said, "All right I get it, now eat up, you have barely touched your pancakes."
Nanami knew it wasn't a good idea letting it slip to Aiko that he and a new recently acquired friend were having some dinner as a repaid favour, because Aiko had a tendency to shamelessly hit on the 28 year old ex-sorcerer at any chance given. Even if it was publicly
A small comfortable silence now filled the relaxed atmosphere. Aiko continued to stare barrenly out of the huge wall sized glass window, her mind being set on buying Maki an apology present whilst also stirring her now tepid coffee.
The whole time that Aiko was spacing out, Nanami couldn't refrain himself from genuinely smiling from the wave of nostalgia washing over him. The once small girl who had eyes glistening full of wonder and curiosity, who always ran rings around Gojo and still does now, was sat opposite him all grown up after all these years with her own life full of trials and tribulations
From the corner of her eye, Aiko saw that rare handsome smile. She instantly placed her hand over her heart and feigned shock alarming Nanami.
"Oh..my..is THE Nanami Kento smiling?! I never thought I would see that again" Aiko teased.
