Peiskos!

Crashing waves, contagious laughter, swaying palm trees, a cerulean evening scenery by the sea, ruffling pages of the travel journal that were dusted and packed after a long break of 18 months, and a doting friend by the side to witness the most healing tropical sunset on a sandy beach, taking away the pain, anxiety, insecurities and all other negative vibes inflicted upon on us from the most uncertain past year with it as it sets, a perfect summer fete, Anay looked at me smiling, while I smiled at the site "You really do enjoy beach sunsets don't you?" letting out a slight chuckle, "Shh!!" I replied, placing a finger on my lips, cueing him to appreciate the moment, "I' am appreciating it....umm you " he replied giving me his signature lopsided grin, eyeing him from the corner of my eye, I nudged him on the arm, which is my involuntary anti-flirt reaction.

"I have something to say, rather ask!" he declared, with a serious tone this time, demanding my full attention, I angled towards him, trying not to miss the sunset and the conversation, "Why did you decide to take this trip with me, it's an unusual response to my 'I love you', it's been few days and I don't seem to decipher this yet?" smiling, I moved closer to him and rested my head on his shoulder, lifting my chin up he gave me a quizzical eyebrow, growing impatient to find out why, tucking a frizzy strand behind my ear, I braced myself to answer, "I usually don't share my tropical beach sunsets with anyone else but a very special dear one!" came my reply looking straight into his eyes and back at the sun.

"Well... does this mean yes, you love me too, does this mean you are my girlfriend and my roommate now.... also I need to know your intention behind this trip, speak up Vrushi, I have too many questions?" a giggle escaped my lips, now fully facing him, I began my monologue, "You finally have my full attention now, so we had a rough past year, 4 years of living in the same house did not make us realize what we felt for each other but one single unpredictable past year did, during the course of that time, we blindly trusted and relied on each other to feel alive and better, don't you think the celebration of our realization, fondness, love, and stronger friendship should be unpredictable too?" I concluded wiggling my eyebrows.

Cupping my face with his huge palms, he said with a vast grin "Oh yes!!! You give me this peiskos feeling and I'm going to seal this moment!" concluding with a kiss.

And just like that yet another sunset witnesses the beginning of a beautiful relationship, but this time it's mine!
