I had always heard about a girl who was amazing at basketball and who everyone admired, as our school was small the rumors circulated easily. She was tall with wavy hair and looked like someone very polular in her circle of friends.
Her name is Denna. I found this out as soon as I joined the cheerleading squad and, indeed, she was very popular.
I found myself paying a lot of attention to the games and how amazing she was, I felt my cheeks flush as she hit a basket.
Once I had to fill up the bottles the coach had ordered for the boys' team, and a clueless guy that I didn't even know got too close and tried to take a picture under my skirt. It was all too fast, and when I looked back Denna was already beating the boy.
- Hey, are you okay? This psycho Mike was trying to take a picture of you, but you can be sure it won't happen again. Isn't it? Mike?
Denna gave him a haunting look and then turned to me.
- What is your name?
- It's errr... It's Sam
- My name is Denna. Nice to meet you, Miss. I see you dry your eyes on every basket I make. People get it, you know?
And that's how we met.
