Hello! This is an explanation for the AU. It will make more sense as the story progresses, I promise! :)
One soulmate out of the pair can feel the emotions of their soulmate. It is picked at random which soulmate experiences this. They feel their soulmate's feeling around the top of every hour, no matter the time of day. They really just get a wave of emotion that passes quickly.
