"Bucks coming home" I hear Steve in the office with tony.
"Buck? You mean the assassin you are in love with?" Tony jokes. I think he's glad him and Steve are back to normal. I hated seeing them disagree, and I wasn't even here for the fight. What I do know is what Steve told me, I like to think I'm a good listener. Plus, it's not like he has Sam to talk to. Mans can't go 30 seconds without cracking a joke. The gist of it is that Buck- or bucky. Not sure what I can call him, was brainwashed. Had to get flown to some high tech place called Wakanda to get his brain back. I'm guessing that's what Steve means.
I hide behind my go to eavesdropping spot, just behind the air conditioning unit blocking me from the glass view of Tony's office. I know Steve would tell me anyways, but I wanted to know now.
"When's be getting here? I'll clear a room." Tony offers.
"Shuri said Monday, should land by 2 pm."
Steve explains.
I hear the door inch open and Steve shares an illuminating goodbye smile with tony as he turns to see me. I doubt I've ever seen him smile so big, he must love this guy.
I think quick as I realize he's about to turn my way, jumping up and acting as if I'm passing by on my way to the gym. Technically, not a lie considering that was the original plan before I decided to eavesdrop.
"Headed to the gym?" Steve assumes by the basketball shorts along with my 6th grade championship tee.
"You look happy" I tease, ignoring his question, trying to get more answers out of him.
"I asked first" he smirks, making the most punchable face he's ever worn.
"Was gonna put up some shots, maybe some lifting with nat after" I explain, hoping he doesn't notice the small mistake in my phrase.
"Was?"
Damn it. Knew he would catch it.
"Still going to. Just was thinking of cutting the lifting part."
Fixed it.
"If you lift I'll join too" he suggests, nodding me with a convincing smile.
I head to the gym, waiting for Steve to get dressed. I didn't expect him to go to the gym in his polo and cargo pants from the meeting with tony, but damn is he taking long.
After putting up some shots, 30 minutes later in confusion about the lack of Steve or Natasha's arrival, I hear the door open. Laughter follows, and I watch from the court as Steve walks in with a troublesome smile. They think they are sneaky, but I see nat waiting by the door to create the illusion they didn't walk down together. No wonder it took them so long, I knew they where up to something. With the new intel of their relationships existence, I couldn't help but crack a smirk at Steve when nat walked In.
He smirks back, quickly correcting his face when nat looks to him.
He clears his throat, "shall we?"
"Come here." Nat demands, gesturing over to the deadlift in the corner.
Hell of a warm up, but then again she is black widow. I usually don't lift much, my magic is light, I don't require muscle to be better at my job. The goal is to be able to win a fight without it, what me and nat have been working towards.
"What the hell was that?" I tease, hinting I know what's going on.
"What was what?" She plays dumb.
"Oh come on." I roll my eyes. "Arriving 30 minutes late, together? Giggling? You never giggle Nat." I say with a smirk.
"Don't tell ANYONE" nat scolds, quickly giving up on her lie. Which I decide listen to. It's rare for me to listen to direction. Although I could teleport her to deep space and leave her there, I'm still scared of her. She has a good yell.
