Chapter 2

A/N: Hi! Thanks for checking chapter two out! I'm doing a time jump to the end of August. It's Teddys 2nd birthday. Ginny now has a pretty large bump and knows that she's having a boy. She'll give birth at the end of next month. Harry and Ginny have already decided the name will be James Sirius Potter. And as always a friendly reminder: this is my first Harry Potter fan fic and everything may not chronologically or theoretically correct but I did my best to follow the facts we know but I made up/ changed others things. It was a late Friday afternoon with gorgeous sunny weather out. The Potter family have just sat down for a lunch outside in their very very large backyard. "Foods ready!" Harry shouts from the grill where he was just finishing cooking a couple hot dogs and a hamburger. "Foods ready Tedders! Let's go!" Ginny says excitedly to her little godson who was playing on the swings on his giant play set Harry built for him. Harry even carved Teddy's name into the side of the play set much to Teddys pleasure since he was upset at the possibility of having to share his play set with his new brother on the way. But both of his parents assured him James would get his own toys and yes even his own play set. Teddy reached his hands up motioning for Ginny to pick him up out of the baby swing screeching with delight at the aspect of food. Ginny picked him up and set him down on the ground telling him "There you go buddy. Now let's run to the food where Daddy is!" Ginny said slowly running ahead trying to get Teddy to do the same. Teddy just looked as Ginny ran ahead pondering the idea of actually running or just falling on purpose and screaming so his Mummy would come pick him up. He decided to go with the second option falling into his butt and screaming and crying at the top of his lungs. Ginny quickly rushed back picking up the little boy off the grass and placing him on her hip. "Okay now lets run!" Ginny said taking off making Teddy scream with delight. Arriving at the table Ginny places Teddy into his highchair slipping a bib over his bare chest ( since it was so hot that day the couple let Teddy run around in just his nappy much to Teddy's delight.) and clicking his highchair tray on. Harry smiled kissing the top of Teddy's hair and placing a cut up hamburger on his tray for him. Ginny slipped into the picnic table as Harry does the same placing a hot dog in a bun on her plate. After lunch while Ginny took the small clean up duty since Harry made the lunch Harry took Teddy back to the yard playing with a giant ball almost two sizes larger then his godson. Teddy normally loved playing with this ball since it was so big but today it was so hot we didn't want to play with it. What Teddy wanted to play with or rather in to be more specific is the giant mud puddle he had created much to his parents dismay. When Harry wasn't looking Teddy made a run for it jumping into the puddle of mud splashing all around and "swimming" too getting his whole body including hair covered in mud. Then the little boy thought it would be a good idea to jump into the mud again but this time he slipped and fell straight on his butt making him howel and cry so loud Harry thought that even Remus in his werwolf form didn't howel that loud. Harry quickly ran over to Teddy seeing what was the problem this time. "Oh baby did you fall?" Harry asked picking the muddy screaming Teddy up. But instead of saying anything he just screamed even louder. "It's okay baby boy let's go get you cleaned up." Harry cooed to Teddy cradling him not caring he was covered in mud. Harry walked in the back door that led to the kitchen where Ginny was just placing the last of the dish's in the dishwasher. Ginny looked up at the sound of her godsons screams and immediately rushed over to Harry when he saw him cradling Teddy. "He fell when playing in the mud puddle behind my back." Harry explained to Ginny. "I'm gonna go bathe him then bring him back out. I got it though don't worry. Why don't you read your book and relax outside?" Harry suggested walked towards the bathroom with the howling and now kicking Teddy. Harry quickly turned the bath water on making sure it wasn't too hot before undoing Teddys nappy, taking it off and placing him the water. Harry quickly threw the nappy on the counter not caring that it was wet. Teddy always hated baths at first and always tried multiple times to get out of the tub before finally giving in and letting his Mummy or Dada wash him. Expect this time when Harry turned to the side for 5 seconds to place the nappy down Teddy tried to make a run for it but not realizing water was slippery he slipped on the bathroom floor that was covered in water due to all of his splashing when Harry placed him in the tub. Harry quickly caught the little boy before he actually could hit the floor and hurt himself again. "NO TUBBIE!!" Teddy screamed to Harry. "It's okay Teddy look! It's a boat!" Harry said holding up a plastic boat to distract Teddy. He quickly grabbed the boat all of a sudden intrigued and turning his hair the same pink color of the boat to show so much to Harry's relief. The rest of bath time went pretty smoothly expect for one point at the end when Harry was rinsing the soap out of Teddy's hair some of the soap got into his eye which set him off again screaming and crying. Finally Harry managed to finish bathing him and lifted him out of the tub and swaddling him in a towel and carrying him to his room placing him on the changing table. "We're gonna put a nappy on you so you can go play!" Harry explained taking the towel off of Teddy. "No." He said very a matter of a factly.  "No nappy?" Harry repeated. "No." Teddy confirmed. "Please Teddy? I don't wanna fight with you." Harry begged. "No no no no no!" Teddy shouted. "Okay okay. If you don't want a nappy right now I guess it's fine. We'll be outside again so I guess there isn't too much harm." Harry said picking the naked boy up and placing him on his hip. Teddy shrieked loudly with delight at getting his way and not having to wear a nappy. Harry walked onto the porch where Ginny was peacefully reading her book. "Hi my boys!" Ginny said happily when they walked out. "MAMA!!" Teddy screeched reaching out for her. "My baby boy." Ginny cooed as Harry set Teddy on her lap. "Harry, where's his nappy?" She said all of a sudden realizing he was in fact butt naked. "He didn't want it and I figured he can't do too much harm since we're outside." Harry shrugged. "Hm. Okay I guess your right." Ginny also shrugged. She set Teddy down much to his dismay. So much so in fact that he burst into tears and ran to Harry to see if he'd pick him up. Harry of course obliged picking him up and explaining "Mommy can't hold you for too long because she has baby brother James in her tummy Ted. We talked about this buddy." then wiping the tears from his godsons' face. "But I wuv mummy and I wan her to howd me." Teddy said sadly. "And I love you too buddy! But I can't hold you for too long is all. Daddy will hold you for as long as you want. Okay?" Ginny said. "Otay. Sowry." Teddy said turning his hair black like Harry's. "Wets go pway!" Teddy said to Harry squirming to get down and run on the lawn. "Okay let's go!" Harry said setting him go and running off after the little naked boy. "Swing!" Teddy announced putting his arms up expectedly for Harry to pick him up on put him on the swing. Harry lifted him up placing him in the baby swing laughing at how silly he looked naked in the baby swing and even summoning his camera to snap a photo. As soon as he set his camera down after he got the photo he walked over to go push Teddy on the swing. Expecting Teddy to be eager to be pushed he was surprised to find that he had his arms up wanting out of the swing already. "Swing wet!" Teddy madly explained. This made Harry laugh even harder then before as the reason his swing was wet was because he peed in it. Harry lifted a mad Teddy up and set him on the grass in front of the swings. "Tedders the reason your swing was wet was cause you peed in it. When you are outside with no nappy you can pee anywhere but your swing okay buddy?" Harry explained then asked. "Otay Dada. I pee pee here?" The little boy questioned. Harry laughed and said "Sure buddy if you need to pee more you can pee on the grass where you are." Harry confirmed. "Okay Dada." Teddy responded  as he started peeing on the grass. Harry just laughed at his silly little godson.
