"BAM, BAM, BAM, CRASH" the temporary bedside table, made with binders and Sherlock Homes volumes tumbled off balance. 16 year old, Sabine Lindsay tumbled out of bed and smashed her right temple on the shattered lamp pieces.
"Get up and lets get going!" her mothers voice drifted up the stairs and through the closed bedroom door.
"There we go! Here you are lets just put this on and -"her mom began
"Its alright, mom ok?" Sabine impatiently tugged at the knots in her smooth, dark and short hair and stomped down stairs, only hesitating when her twin flung a slipper at her.
"Can you quiet down?" she shouted, "This is only the very beginning of the day!".
"THUD", her older brother rolled across the floor, just barley dodging the jet-quick slipper. Quickly throwing a apple and leftover carton filled with noodles, she ultimately made it out the front door, leaving havoc right behind her. Sabine dashed down the sidewalk and just made it to their school's personal school bus for Gifted, Smart and, what her friend and sister called it, Dorky students.
"Sab! Sabine! SABINE!" Reyna Avila Ramirez-Arellano, her first and only friend called to her, motioned to a backpack-reserved seat right next to her.
"OVER HERE!".
"What is with your suit? It is wrinkled? You know what I think about a sloppy friend! And my proposal to SpyCam!" she joked as Sabine sat down
"Now are you still blabbering about joining that company! Come on Rey, when did you wake up?" Sabine protested
"5:30, what about you? I needed to review todays exam so I don't fail like you" Reyna replied, smoothing down her already smooth skirt.
"7:55, which is 5 minutes before the bus came to my stop" Sabine challenged, smiling at Reyna's scrunched up nose of disgust. Standing up, she gathered her belongings and stepped off the bus to meet her schools whitewashed walls, light blue lockers and perfectly scrubbed desks - and her messy report cards.
