Caspian | I'll take you to the stars

This will take place in the second movie time line.

Apparently I'm now stranded in a magical country with my favourite cousins! Note my sarcasm. Don't get me wrong, Lucy has been filling me up during the past months, about their great adventure in a country called Narnia that she found inside a wardrobe. Of course I didn't believe her at first, I mean, who could believe that they spent years inside a magical wardrobe, in a country where animals talk and that they were kings and queens from their child years to their adulthood?

No one in their right mind would believe that. Well that's the point. Who said that you had to always be in your right mind? It was hard to believe at first, but I was pretty close to Lucy, therefore, I was able to notice that there was no way that just in a couple of weeks that they spent at the professor's house, Lu would have matured so much. There had to be something else, but how could it be possible?

I have never gotten along with the other three siblings. From my point of view, Peter was extremely proud, Susan was a know-it-all, and Edmund was a jerk to me most of the time. Who could blame them? It's not like they're the only ones that don't like the weird and lonely girl that has no friends, even if you're their cousin. I could tell that Lu was the only one who could bare my presence.

I was on the train station with my cousins since I go to the same school as Lucy and Susan. One moment I was  standing beside the bench in which they were sitting and the next I was in front of the bluest ocean I had ever seen, I could tell that wasn't our world.

We took a walk around the place and Susan had to borrow me a dress. We saved a dwarf that was being held hostage by some armoured men, that I soon learned were Telmarines. He didn't seem happy to be saved tho. Lucy was convinced she saw Aslan, but none of the others did.

Right now we are supposed to be sleeping, yet, I can't help but stare at the night sky. It's so different from ours. Yes, there are stars and planets, but the constellations are way too different from the ones in our world. I could tell I was really far from the place I'm supposed to call "home".

I fell asleep for what felt as minutes until I woke up to see no sight of Lucy.

"Peter! Peter! Wake up! Lucy is gone" I alerted the older sibling.

"Did you see her leave?" He asked, to which I gave him a 'are you joking?' look

"Of course no"

I went looking for Lucy as he woke up the rest. After a short walk I saw her in between the rocks, I was about to call her name until I saw a horned creature with an ax getting closer. I rushed to Lucy and signed her to keep quiet. I was shocked at my sight. Soon many other mythical creatures appeared and the Peter was fighting with someone else. He was wearing the same armour as the men that were trying to drown our DLF.

Once they stopped fighting, the siblings were presented as the kings and queens of the old, as I stood there like the burden I was. I felt a pair of eyes on me, once I raised my sight I caught Caspian's stare, he gave me a soft smile, to which I responded the same and then put my head down again.

They talked about getting their troops ready to fight the Telmarines and give Narnia back to the Narnians. Then we continued our walk, now accompanied by the creatures and the prince.

"Hi" I heard a voice say beside me

"Hello" I responded as I turned to look at Caspian.

" I didn't get your name before, are you related to the kings and queens?" He asked genuinely curious

"I'm y/n and I'm their cousin, you didn't get it before because it's not that important to be mentioned" I replied in embarrassment

"I believe it is really important, otherwise you wouldn't be here" I gave him a soft smile, I didn't know how much I was in need of those words.

We continued our walk in silence, with an occasional word exchange now and then. I met Troufflehunter, Reepicheep and some other creatures that were really kind to me, I learned a little about the life in Narnia during the past years and it pained me to see that it was nothing like the stories Lucy and told me about the golden age. As the sun set down, the group decided it was time to look for a place to spend the night.

~•~• Mini time skip •~•~

I was sitting on a rock a little far from the group while watching the stars. If I couldn't get tired of staring at the night sky in my world, I don't know what I'm gonna do about the curiosity that this whole new cosmos awakens in me.

"I'll take a lucky guess and say that you're as awestruck at the night sky as I am" I heard Caspian saw as he took a seat next to me

"I might be a little more since this is completely new to the one I know" I replied and he gave me a warm smile

"I guess I'll have to give you a lecture about the Narnian constellations some time"

"I'd love to" I smiled at him

"Why are you so far from the group?"

"Emm.. I enjoy being alone, I guess"

"Do you enjoy it or are you just used to it?" He carefully asked. I felt as if he knew exactly what I was thinking.

I sighed and continued to get lost between the stars "I don't know if there's a difference, the only company I usually get is Lucy and we don't spend time together very often" I quietly replied

"I'm sorry"

"Nevermind, as you said, I'm used to it"

"I didn't mean it in a bad way" he quickly said.

"It's okay, I didn't take it like that" I slightly chuckled at his quick response. "What about you prince? Why does it feel like you understand the real meaning of what I say?"

"Well I grew almost by myself in the castle, my dad died when I was very young, my uncle wants my throne, he sent men to kill me and that's why I'm here, and my professor became my only friend"

"I'm sorry" I sighed "now I feel like I sounded like someone that just wanted attention, I just victimized myself, when my circumstances are not even close to what you have lived, I'm so sor-" I quickly said until I was interrupted

"Stop apologizing, you have every right to feel the way you do and that doesn't make you greedy for attention" he calmed me down as he held my hand.

After a couple minutes of enjoying each other's and the stars' company, we decided to lay down and soon drifted to sleep.

First Narnia One Shot. This story has been on my mind for I while and I finally decided to write and publish it, this is the first part of (maybe) three of this story line.
