An Epistle from the Forthcoming

It isn't right
How the world talks about me and my friends.
We're not a generation in plight
We're much more than the 'apparent' pretence.

Sure we have in some pros
And also a fair share of cons.
But isn't also often a beautiful rose
Surrounded by sharp thorns?

These thorns makes us seem unapproachable and self - centered
So you just assume we have disrespectful, cold hearts.
But honestly, I work at a call center.
And the only disrespectful people I hear are 50 years old Dotards.

Don't think the future is bleak.
And say we are the inevitable doom.
We are in no way weak.
You just overwhelm our lives with gloom.

We are the Glorious Future of this world.
It is time you took us seriously.
We are dormant potential pearls
And from our perspective, we're not lazy.

Yes, I said we are dormant.
And It's not a bad thing at all.
Stop judging us and getting hellbent
On snatching away our poetry and electric guitars.

Sure we're slow and we take time to decide
And we sit and contemplate when we get confused sometimes.
But this just shows we thoroughly analyse
Every scenario and opportunity that at our hand lies.

It's unique to me, my friends and my generation alone.
Maybe, like us you could also relax
And leave the rat race exhaust alone.
Maybe the world would've been a better home then
If you hadn't been impulsive so.

It isn't right how you talk about me and my friends
You don't get to judge, you don't get to decide
And you definitely don't have a right to humiliate us and have our kind ostracized.
Sit back, look at the wonders we do.
Be supportive even if it's from the fingertips on our cellphones too.
