"As you know, Yuya will be leaving the school and moving to the countryside." said the teacher, putting his hand on the boy's shoulder.

The boy was a young teenage boy with odd eyes, his right eye being green and his left a bright crimson. He had dual-colored green and crimson hair of average length sticking out in downwards pointing spikes all around his head, with the exception of one short upwards pointing spike of green hair.

The boy was wearing a white formal shirt buttoned and a formal dark grey jacket which he wore like a cape. On his head, he wore a pair of golden goggles with orange lenses on his forehead, with a blue star obscuring the right lens. On his chest was a pendant with a small crystal surrounded by metallic wings which stretched from the top of the pendant to two-thirds of it, the upper part of the wings was tied to a leather string that went around his neck.

Yuya Fudo was no normal boy, he was the reincarnation of John, a card-loving boy who wished for Yu-Gi-Oh powers before being reincarnated into his new body. Once he was born he noticed that he looked strikingly like Yuya Sakaki from Yu-Gi-Oh, so he committed to the look and adopted the look, if he looked like the Yu-Gi-Oh protagonist already, he might as well go all the way, was his way of thinking.

School ended very early that day and Yuya sprinted to the exit of the school, sad and exited at the same time. It was a bittersweet experience, both making his heart feel heavy and make him jump in exitement.

A new town meant meeting new people and experiencing new things, but at the same time it meant leaving behind everything he knew before to move to a new place, with new things, he would be sad to leave behind friends if he had any. Don't get him wrong, Yuya didn't mind not having friends, he could always go to the nearest card tournament and play there so he could have some fun. He just hoped there were games wherever he was going.

He entered his train and then sat down on the closest seat to the door in order to get out as quickly as possible. Once he found his seat he took out his backpack and retrieved a few items, the first was a deck of cards and the second a thick binder. He opened the binder, the binder contained hundreds of cards Yuya could switch with the ones in his deck.

He started switching cards around with a bright smile on his face.

"Hmm, now I don't have enough spell card or trap card coverage," whispered Yuya, switching a few cards from the ones he had. Yuya noticed he wasn't exactly in the society he once was in, in fact, Yu-Gi-Oh in this world had just started developing into a game, they were in the syncro era and that year they would get Zexal, so he didn't have some the cards he used in his earlier world, things like Link monsters and Pendulum monsters didn't exist.

Many would be relieved, but honestly Yuya loved playing with pendulum cards, though he only did it casualy, he thought it was disrepectful building a pendulum deck in competitive, still, his favorite card was a pendulum card in his earlier life, so he missed it a little bit.

On a more positive note however, Yuya got to experience the earlier years of Yu-Gi-Oh, in his previous life he started playing in the GX era and missed out on growing with the original Yu-Gi-Oh, so it was still a positive in his eyes.

Just as he organised his deck and placed it inside his bag he felt his eyes slowly get heavier. He quickly locked his backpack with a padlock and while hugging his bag he closed his eyes and put himself at Hypnos' mercy.

Once Yuya woke up he found himself on a blue surface, he blinked in surprise. He somewhere -- most likely a car, filled with blue things, a blue couch, blue lighting, blue floor, and blue curtains. On his left there was a small bar with several glasses and what looked like alcohol bottles. In front of him were two people sitting behind a table, one was a long nosed man interlocking his fingers while resting his elbows on the table, while the other a woman with long, blond hair wearing all blue, holding a large book.
