Mark: I still remember the way professor Calloway glared at us... But, uh, enough of strange university memories, Taeyong! You can't just mention a blog and not elaborate!

Taeyong: You could say I was a bit of a fan a couple of years ago. I ran it with a mentor of mine, we were very, er, passionate about investigating these vigilantes. We wanted to know what made them tick, what it was that they wanted to do and achieve. Our blog had transcripts of many interviews with various of vigilantes and officers and even civilians with some community submissions as well, it was quite the community, if I do say so myself. But, sadly, the blog died shortly after the vigilante ban.

Johnny: I'm surprised you both didn't pick it up again, there are still some vigilantes active.

Taeyong: We considered it, but we both have government linked jobs that would've been jeopardized if we did, so we chose the more logical option.

Mark: I mean... makes sense. Thanks, Taeyong, let's get started with the episode now, I think we've danced around it for a bit. We'll start that discussion shortly, but with that out of the way, let's begin our first special episode of season two! We were originally going to do this episode on Cheshire, who was popularly requested on our poll, but out of popular demand we decided to instead do this episode on some ex-vigilantes we all love!

Johnny: That's right! We'll be combining Cheshire's and Cypher's episodes, since Cypher was second place on the poll and they two were often cited working together anyway. So, we each chose our favorite vigilante who is now "retired" to talk about. So... anyone want to go first?

Mark: Uh... I usually open, how about we start with our esteemed guest Taeyong?

Taeyong: Me? I... yes, I can start. The vigilante I chose is the very first one I did a report on, the Mastermind.

Mark: Nice choice! I still remember the first time I saw Mastermind on the news when I was, like, eight.

Johnny: Damn, that was so long ago!

Taeyong: Agreed, by the time I properly did a report on him, I think it was the third incarnation of the vigilante. Or third to our knowledge. Shall I start on the brief history?

Johnny: Yes, go right on ahead!

Taeyong: Alright, then. So, as Mark said earlier, the first incarnation of Mastermind, later revealed to be Kim Yong-hwan, first appeared in public headlines in 2007 with the reveal of his very Jigsaw-esque trap, minus the fatal nature of the movies, for Arquette Angelo.

Mark: [Gasps] Oh man, I forgot about that guy, pushed him out of my head and everything, that guy was fucked up.

Johnny: He was the Mirror Killer, to those who don't know. He killed a bunch of people in bathrooms and wrote cryptic messages on the mirror as his staple and, as revealed by the police after he got captured, the hidden link in each of the murders was the mirror shard embedded into the victim's wounds that were eventually found to have been from the same mirror in Arquette's basement.

Mark: Really gruesome stuff... he got what he had coming, I'd like to think. He's being kept in Haven Asylum, and that's about all we know.

Taeyong: He truly was a messed up human being. The Mirror Killer was placed in a fitting trap, I would think. It was simplistic in nature, more of a rigged escape room if anything, and it kept Arquette busy while the officers arrived on scene with the solution to the trap. If I recall correctly, it was a mirror maze filled with objects of significance to the victims.
