Chapter 1
3000 years ago there was a massive war; the world was divided in two. Believe it or not, this war was over a book, the seventh and final book of nature; this book contained secrets that could allow a person enough power to control the world, or perhaps even destroy it. During this war an unknown event took place, one that took away the lives of many. It was recorded that the books, the books of nature, were all destroyed.

The birds flew overhead, flitting among the trees, causing the little chipmunk at the bottom of the tree to chatter loudly into the sky. The sun filtered down through the leaves of the oak, perfectly lighting up the page that the boy read as he sat on the strong branch. He flipped the page and as usual the rest of the pages were missing. Sighing the boy shut the book and jumped down from the tree lightly. Quickly looking around he picked up his backpack which rested at the base of the oak and stuffed the book inside. He hoisted the bag onto his back and brushed his blond hair out his face to reveal his striking red eyes, the boy continued his journey.
The path was dry and dusty, every step sent clouds of dust into the air, which the wind thought fun to blow into the boy's eyes as it pushed the dust away. The sun shone softly down as the shadows crept in and out. As the boy walked his head was filled with the rhythmical sound of his feet thudding against the ground.
Soon he spotted the village far in the distance; from what he could guess it was very quiet place, it seemed to be calling him.
Suddenly the boy heard a rumbling and a whinny, turning around he witnessed a carriage careening towards him uncontrollably as the driver struggled to regain control. Undaunted the boy stared icily into the horses' eyes, his eyes turning gold, becoming like that of a lizards. The symbol on his chest, which was hidden beneath the his blue tunic, burned hot as he called upon Its power, sensing the danger the horses came to an abrupt stop about an inch away from the boy.
The driver seemed quite startled at first but he slowly recovered his composure.
"Oh dear! That was quite close young man".
No sooner had he finished speaking did a quite flustered-looking man come running out. He had a thin moustache and short cropped hair; he was tall and slender and wore a fancy black suit. He paused, eying the boy up and down then he turned to the driver.
"Looks like you managed to get the horses under control in the nick of time," he spoke, then he turned to the boy," Where are you headed?"
Casually, the boy pointed over to the village.
"Well that's quite a coincidence, we're heading there now ourselves, care for a ride?" he asked.
The boy looked towards the village considering his offer;' it was quite a walk' he thought.
"Come now, I insist," he spoke as he rested his hand on the boy's shoulder, guiding him towards the back part of the carriage.
"You can sit in the back with my niece, besides, it would save you the walk."
The boy climbed into the high black chair, sitting inside was a young girl. She was dressed in a red dress with a red garment pulled around her shoulders. She was about a year younger than the boy was, him being seventeen.
Soon they were on our way, Caleb stared listlessly out the window watching the scenery go by. From what he guessed the village was about a half hour away.
"Hi there!" He heard the girl speak next to him, however he continued to stare outside counting the trees as they went by.
"My name is Laura, but everyone back home calls me 'Tea'." There was silence again.
